What is Zelwin?
Zelwin (ZLW) is a blockchain-based platform launched in 2021, designed to facilitate e-commerce and digital asset transactions. It aims to bridge the gap between traditional retail and the cryptocurrency ecosystem, enabling users to buy and sell goods and services using digital currencies. The project operates on its own blockchain, which supports smart contracts and decentralized applications, enhancing the functionality and security of transactions. The native token, ZLW, serves multiple purposes within the Zelwin ecosystem, including transaction fees, rewards for users, and governance participation, allowing holders to influence the platform's development and decision-making processes. Zelwin stands out for its focus on integrating cryptocurrency into everyday shopping experiences, positioning itself as a significant player in the evolving landscape of digital commerce. Its unique approach combines the benefits of blockchain technology with practical applications in retail, making it relevant for both consumers and merchants looking to adopt digital currencies.
When and how did Zelwin start?
Zelwin originated in November 2018 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in March 2019, allowing developers and early adopters to explore its functionalities and provide feedback. Following the successful testing phase, Zelwin transitioned to its mainnet launch in July 2019, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized marketplace that facilitates seamless transactions between buyers and sellers, leveraging blockchain technology to enhance security and transparency. The initial distribution of Zelwin tokens occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in December 2018, which helped raise funds for further development and marketing efforts. These foundational steps established Zelwin's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for its ecosystem development.
What’s coming up for Zelwin?
According to official updates, Zelwin is preparing for a significant platform upgrade scheduled for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing user experience and scalability. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to streamline transactions and improve overall performance. Additionally, Zelwin is working on integrating with several key partners in the e-commerce sector, with targeted completion by mid-2024. These partnerships are expected to expand Zelwin's ecosystem and increase its utility for users. The progress of these initiatives will be tracked through their official roadmap, ensuring transparency and community engagement as they move forward with these developments.

This involvement allows them to contribute to the platform's growth and sustainability while benefiting from the ecosystem's economic activities. Overall, Zelwin aims to create a comprehensive environment that supports both everyday users and technical contributors, fostering a robust digital economy.
How is Zelwin secured?
Zelwin employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, participants can become validators by staking a certain amount of Zelwin tokens, which incentivizes them to act honestly, as their stake is at risk. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. To further align incentives, Zelwin incorporates a reward system for validators, providing them with staking rewards for their participation in the network. Additionally, the protocol implements slashing penalties for malicious behavior or failure to validate transactions correctly, thereby discouraging any attempts at fraud or negligence. Zelwin also emphasizes security through regular audits and a governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes. This multi-faceted approach, combined with client diversity, enhances the resilience of the network against potential attacks and vulnerabilities.
Has Zelwin faced any controversy or risks?
Zelwin has faced some controversy related to regulatory challenges, particularly concerning compliance with local laws regarding cryptocurrency operations. In early 2022, the project was scrutinized for its marketing practices and the clarity of its token utility, which raised concerns among potential investors and regulatory bodies. The team responded by enhancing their compliance measures and engaging with legal advisors to ensure adherence to applicable regulations. Additionally, Zelwin has encountered technical risks typical of blockchain projects, including vulnerabilities in smart contracts. To address these, the team conducted a comprehensive audit of their codebase and implemented necessary patches to enhance security. They also established a bug bounty program to incentivize community members to report potential vulnerabilities. Ongoing risks for Zelwin include market volatility and the evolving regulatory landscape, which are common challenges in the cryptocurrency space. The team continues to mitigate these risks through regular audits, transparent communication with the community, and proactive engagement with regulatory authorities.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
