Kurrent (KURT)
What is Kurrent?
Kurrent is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency designed to enable secure and anonymous transactions. It operates as its own blockchain, utilizing the Zerocoin protocol to ensure user privacy and transaction confidentiality. The Kurrent token is used primarily for digital payments, allowing users to conduct transactions without revealing their identity or transaction history. By integrating advanced cryptographic techniques, Kurrent aims to provide a decentralized and secure alternative to traditional financial systems, focusing on user privacy and data protection.
When and how did Kurrent start?
Kurrent (KURT) was launched in 2016 as a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. It was created by a team of developers committed to enhancing transaction anonymity through the use of the Zerocoin protocol. The project aimed to offer more secure and private transactions compared to Bitcoin. Kurrent gained initial traction by being listed on several cryptocurrency exchanges shortly after its launch, which helped in building its early community. Over time, the project focused on continuous improvements and community engagement to maintain its relevance in the privacy coin sector.
What’s coming up for Kurrent?
Kurrent (KURT) is gearing up for an exciting phase with several key developments outlined in its roadmap. The project is focusing on enhancing its privacy features by integrating more advanced cryptographic techniques, which are expected to bolster its position in the privacy coin sector. Upcoming upgrades will also aim to improve network scalability and transaction speeds, making it more efficient for everyday use. The community is actively involved in shaping future plans, with discussions around potential partnerships and real-world use cases that could expand Kurrent’s adoption. As Kurrent evolves, it aims to strengthen its ecosystem, making it a more appealing choice for users seeking secure and private transactions.
What makes Kurrent stand out?
Kurrent (KURT) is unique compared to other cryptocurrencies due to its implementation of the Zerocoin protocol, which enhances privacy by allowing users to make transactions anonymously. Unlike many other coins, Kurrent focuses on complete anonymity and privacy as its standout technology, making it different from typical cryptocurrencies that do not prioritize user privacy to this extent. Additionally, Kurrent employs a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, which is energy-efficient and provides a real-world use case for users who want to earn rewards through staking while maintaining transaction privacy.
What can you do with Kurrent?
Kurrent (KURT) is primarily used for secure and private payments, leveraging its anonymity features to ensure transaction privacy. It is not typically associated with staking, DeFi apps, NFTs, or governance functions. As a utility token, KURT focuses on providing users with enhanced privacy options for their transactions.
Is Kurrent still active or relevant?
Kurrent (KURT) is currently an inactive project, with no ongoing development or recent updates from developers. The coin is not actively traded on major exchanges, indicating low trading activity and interest. Additionally, there is a lack of active community presence, suggesting it may be considered abandoned.
Who is Kurrent designed for?
Kurrent (KURT) is built for privacy-conscious users and cryptocurrency enthusiasts who prioritize anonymity in their transactions. It targets a niche community interested in secure and untraceable digital payments, leveraging zero-knowledge proofs to ensure privacy. This makes it ideal for users who value confidentiality and security in their financial activities.
How is Kurrent secured?
Kurrent secures its network using the Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus method, where validators are chosen based on the number of coins they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This approach enhances blockchain protection by incentivizing validators to act honestly, as their financial stake in the network is at risk. This model promotes energy efficiency and network security by reducing the computational power needed compared to Proof of Work systems.
Has Kurrent faced any controversy or risks?
Kurrent (KURT) has faced challenges related to its low adoption and liquidity, which contribute to significant volatility and investment risk. Additionally, the project has not been widely covered in major cryptocurrency news outlets, leading to limited information on any potential security incidents or controversies. Investors should exercise caution due to the general risks associated with lesser-known cryptocurrencies.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
