Able Finance (ABLE)
What is Able Finance?
Able Finance (ABLE) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform launched in 2021, designed to provide users with a suite of financial services, including lending, borrowing, and yield farming. The project aims to democratize access to financial tools and services, enabling users to manage their assets more effectively without relying on traditional financial institutions. Able Finance operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing smart contracts to facilitate transactions and ensure transparency and security. Its native token, ABLE, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including governance, where holders can participate in decision-making processes, and as a utility token for transaction fees and staking rewards. What sets Able Finance apart is its focus on user-friendly interfaces and innovative financial products that cater to both novice and experienced users. This positions Able Finance as a significant player in the DeFi space, contributing to the broader movement towards decentralized financial solutions.
When and how did Able Finance start?
Able Finance originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing early users to interact with the platform and provide feedback. This was followed by the mainnet launch in September 2021, marking its official entry into the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. Early development focused on creating a user-friendly platform for lending and borrowing, aiming to simplify access to financial services through blockchain technology. The initial distribution of the Able token occurred via a fair launch model in October 2021, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the need for a pre-sale or initial coin offering (ICO). These foundational steps established the groundwork for Able Finance's growth and the development of its ecosystem.
What’s coming up for Able Finance?
According to official updates, Able Finance is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade aimed at enhancing user experience and scalability, targeted for Q1 2024. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to streamline transactions and improve overall platform performance. Additionally, the team is working on integrating with several decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, with partnerships expected to be announced in the coming months. These initiatives are part of Able Finance's broader strategy to expand its ecosystem and enhance user engagement. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through their official communication channels, ensuring transparency and community involvement in the development process.

Overall, the ABLE token plays a crucial role in enabling transactions, governance, and development within the Able Finance network.
Is Able Finance still active or relevant?
Able Finance remains active, with recent developments indicating its ongoing relevance in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. As of September 2023, the project announced a significant upgrade to its platform, enhancing user experience and expanding its lending capabilities. This update reflects a commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation to market needs. The project is currently focusing on integrating additional liquidity pools and expanding its partnerships with other DeFi protocols, which are crucial for maintaining competitiveness in the rapidly evolving ecosystem. Furthermore, Able Finance has been actively engaging with its community through governance proposals, with several votes taking place in the last few months to shape the future direction of the project. These indicators, including recent upgrades, active governance participation, and ongoing integrations, support Able Finance's continued relevance within the DeFi sector, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and community involvement.
Who is Able Finance designed for?
Able Finance is designed for individual users and investors seeking to optimize their financial strategies through decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. It enables them to manage their assets effectively, providing tools for yield farming, lending, and borrowing. The platform aims to empower users by offering a user-friendly interface and educational resources that facilitate informed decision-making in the crypto space. Secondary participants include developers and liquidity providers who contribute to the ecosystem by creating applications and providing liquidity. They can engage through governance mechanisms and staking opportunities, which enhance the platform's functionality and sustainability. By fostering a collaborative environment, Able Finance supports a diverse range of users, from novices to experienced investors, in achieving their financial goals within the DeFi landscape.
How is Able Finance secured?
Able Finance employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. Validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This model incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked assets can be slashed or penalized for malicious behavior. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards the network against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, thereby encouraging active engagement. Additionally, governance mechanisms are in place to allow stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes, further enhancing the network's resilience. Regular audits and a commitment to security best practices contribute to the overall robustness of Able Finance's infrastructure.
Has Able Finance faced any controversy or risks?
Able Finance has faced risks primarily related to the broader DeFi landscape, including vulnerabilities associated with smart contracts and liquidity pools. In early 2023, the platform experienced a security incident where a bug in its smart contract led to a temporary halt in operations. The team promptly addressed the issue by deploying a patch to rectify the vulnerability and conducted a thorough audit of their codebase to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the project has navigated regulatory scrutiny as governments worldwide tighten regulations on DeFi platforms. To mitigate these risks, Able Finance has implemented a transparent governance model and engaged with legal advisors to ensure compliance with evolving regulations. Ongoing risks include market volatility and potential technical exploits, which the team continues to address through regular security audits and community engagement initiatives.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
