Understand the numbers

Market cap is the sum of member market caps (price × circulating supply). The 24h change uses each coin's reported 24h market cap change where there is one; otherwise, and for 7d and 30d, it is implied from the price change at constant supply: a coin's prior cap is its cap ÷ (1 + price change). Sector growth is the ratio of summed caps, not an average of coin changes.

Volume is reported trading activity, not net investment or capital inflow. Turnover compares 24h volume with market cap; high turnover alone does not establish liquidity.

Comparisons: the market cap change follows the selected chart period. Volume change compares the latest 24h with the previous 24h window. Breadth and contributors always use 24h. Table filters combine with AND and never change sector totals.

History sums the market cap and 24h volume of the 20 largest members at each UTC day (each hour on 24H), so it covers most but not all of the sector; the line under the chart says how much. BTC has its own USD axis on the volume chart.

Downloads use unscaled USD amounts and explicit percentage fields; a missing observation stays empty, never zero. Volume measures reported trading activity, not inflows; price-implied cap changes are not investment flows.

Previous cap = current cap ÷ (1 + change ÷ 100), the change being the coin's reported 24h market cap change where there is one, else its price change. Cap contribution = current cap − previous cap. Sector cap change = (sum of current caps ÷ sum of previous caps − 1) × 100. Volume growth uses the same aggregate comparison on consecutive 24-hour windows. Turnover = 24h volume ÷ current cap × 100. Concentration = top-three cap ÷ total cap × 100.
