Who is Vision designed for?
Vision is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to create and utilize decentralized applications and services. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration with the Vision ecosystem. This support allows developers to build innovative solutions that leverage Vision's capabilities, while consumers can access various applications that enhance their digital experiences. Secondary participants such as validators and liquidity providers engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. By fostering a collaborative environment, Vision aims to empower its primary users to achieve their goals while ensuring the ecosystem remains robust and dynamic.
How is Vision secured?
Vision uses a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators confirm transactions and maintain network integrity by holding and staking the native token. This model allows for efficient transaction validation while reducing energy consumption compared to traditional Proof of Work systems. Validators are selected to create new blocks based on the amount of tokens they stake, incentivizing them to act honestly to protect their investment. The protocol employs advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, while slashing mechanisms penalize malicious behavior or inactivity by reducing the staked amount. Additional safeguards include regular audits and governance processes that involve the community in decision-making, enhancing the network's resilience and security.
Has Vision faced any controversy or risks?
Vision has faced some controversy related to security risks and community governance issues. In early 2023, the project experienced a significant security incident involving a vulnerability in its smart contract that allowed unauthorized access to user funds. The team promptly addressed this by deploying a patch to the affected contract and conducting a thorough audit to identify and rectify any additional vulnerabilities. They also initiated a reimbursement program for affected users to restore trust within the community. Additionally, there have been ongoing discussions within the community regarding governance decisions, particularly around the allocation of funds and project direction. The team has implemented a more transparent governance framework to involve community members in decision-making processes, aiming to mitigate future disputes. As with many blockchain projects, ongoing risks include market volatility, regulatory scrutiny, and potential technical vulnerabilities. The Vision team continues to focus on risk mitigation through regular audits, community engagement, and transparent communication about project developments.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
