Shuts Wave (SWAVE)
What is Shuts Wave?
Shuts Wave (SWAVE) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project launched in 2023 by a team of blockchain enthusiasts. It was created to provide users with innovative financial solutions, including lending, borrowing, and yield farming, all while ensuring a high level of security and transparency. The project operates on its own Layer 1 blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enables efficient transaction processing and energy conservation. Its native token, SWAVE, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, governance participation, and staking rewards, allowing users to earn passive income. Shuts Wave stands out for its unique approach to integrating traditional finance with blockchain technology, offering a user-friendly interface and robust security features. This positions it as a significant player in the DeFi space, aiming to attract both novice and experienced users seeking to leverage the benefits of decentralized finance.
When and how did Shuts Wave start?
Shuts Wave originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following successful testing, the mainnet was officially launched in September 2021, marking its initial public availability. Early development focused on creating a robust decentralized ecosystem aimed at enhancing user engagement and transaction efficiency. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Shuts Wave's growth and the development of its community and ecosystem.
What’s coming up for Shuts Wave?
According to official updates, Shuts Wave is preparing for a major protocol upgrade, named "Wave 2.0," planned for Q1 2024, focused on enhancing scalability and user experience. This upgrade aims to significantly improve transaction speeds and reduce fees, making the platform more accessible to users. Additionally, Shuts Wave is targeting a strategic partnership with a leading DeFi platform, expected to be finalized by mid-2024, which will facilitate cross-platform integrations and broaden the ecosystem's reach. These milestones are designed to strengthen Shuts Wave's position in the market and enhance its overall functionality. Progress on these initiatives will be tracked through the project's official roadmap and communication channels.
What makes Shuts Wave stand out?
Shuts Wave distinguishes itself through its innovative Layer 2 architecture, which enhances transaction throughput and reduces latency compared to traditional blockchain solutions. This architecture leverages advanced sharding techniques, allowing for parallel processing of transactions, thereby significantly improving scalability. Additionally, Shuts Wave incorporates a unique consensus mechanism that combines proof-of-stake with delegated governance, empowering the community to participate actively in decision-making processes. The ecosystem is enriched by strategic partnerships with various DeFi projects and NFT platforms, fostering an environment of interoperability and collaboration. Who is Shuts Wave designed for?
Shuts Wave is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to create and utilize decentralized applications effectively. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration into various platforms. The project aims to empower developers by offering a robust infrastructure that supports innovation and scalability, while consumers benefit from enhanced access to decentralized services and applications. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters a vibrant ecosystem where all participants can thrive, aligning their goals with the overarching mission of Shuts Wave to promote decentralization and user empowerment.
How is Shuts Wave secured?
Shuts Wave employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of Shuts Wave tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked tokens can be slashed or penalized for malicious behavior. The network utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, thus encouraging active engagement. Additionally, governance mechanisms allow token holders to participate in decision-making processes, further enhancing the network's security and resilience. Regular audits and a robust bug bounty program are also in place to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities, ensuring the ongoing security of the Shuts Wave ecosystem.
Has Shuts Wave faced any controversy or risks?
Shuts Wave has faced regulatory scrutiny due to its innovative approach to decentralized finance, particularly concerning compliance with existing financial regulations. In early 2023, the project was involved in discussions with regulatory bodies regarding its token distribution model, which raised questions about potential securities violations. The team responded by enhancing their compliance framework and engaging legal experts to ensure adherence to applicable laws. Additionally, Shuts Wave experienced a technical incident in mid-2023 when a vulnerability was discovered in its smart contract code, which could have led to unauthorized access to user funds. The development team promptly addressed this by deploying a patch and conducting a thorough audit of the codebase to prevent future occurrences. Ongoing risks for Shuts Wave include market volatility and potential regulatory changes, which are common in the cryptocurrency space. The project mitigates these risks through regular audits, transparent communication with the community, and a commitment to maintaining robust security practices.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
