What is Bitfresh?
Bitfresh (BFT) is a decentralized blockchain project launched in 2023, designed to enhance the online gaming experience by integrating blockchain technology into gaming platforms. The project aims to address issues such as transparency, fairness, and user ownership within the gaming industry. Bitfresh operates on its own blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enables efficient transaction processing and scalability. Its native token, BFT, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including facilitating in-game transactions, staking for rewards, and governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes regarding the platform's development. What sets Bitfresh apart is its focus on creating a seamless bridge between traditional gaming and blockchain technology, offering gamers true ownership of their in-game assets and fostering a community-driven environment. This innovative approach positions Bitfresh as a significant player in the evolving landscape of blockchain gaming.
When and how did Bitfresh start?
Bitfresh originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in December 2021, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform for various applications, emphasizing user engagement and community-driven initiatives. The initial distribution of the Bitfresh token occurred through a fair launch model in January 2022, which aimed to ensure equitable access for participants. These foundational steps established Bitfresh's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for its ecosystem development.
What’s coming up for Bitfresh?
According to official updates, Bitfresh is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade planned for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and performance. This upgrade is expected to introduce new features that will improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, Bitfresh is working on integrating with several decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, with targeted partnerships set to be announced in the coming months. These initiatives are designed to expand the ecosystem and increase the utility of Bitfresh within the broader crypto market. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through their official channels, ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout the development process.

Who is Bitfresh designed for?
Bitfresh is designed for consumers and developers, enabling them to engage in decentralized applications and services. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate the development and integration of applications within its ecosystem. This allows developers to create innovative solutions while consumers can access a range of services built on the platform. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters a robust ecosystem where all participants can benefit from the growth and functionality of Bitfresh, aligning with their respective goals of innovation, participation, and utility in the blockchain space.
How is Bitfresh secured?
Bitfresh employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators confirm transactions and uphold the integrity of the network. In this model, participants are required to stake a certain amount of Bitfresh tokens to become validators, which incentivizes them to act honestly, as their staked assets can be slashed in the event of malicious behavior or failure to validate correctly. The network utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and maintain data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators based on their performance and the amount of tokens they have staked. This encourages active participation and long-term commitment to the network. Additionally, Bitfresh incorporates governance processes that allow stakeholders to vote on protocol changes, further enhancing security and adaptability. Regular audits and a commitment to multi-client diversity also contribute to the overall resilience of the network.
Has Bitfresh faced any controversy or risks?
Bitfresh has faced some risks related to regulatory scrutiny and technical vulnerabilities since its inception. In mid-2023, the project encountered a significant incident involving a smart contract exploit that resulted in the loss of user funds. The team responded promptly by pausing the affected contracts and initiating a thorough audit to identify and rectify the vulnerabilities. They also communicated transparently with the community about the incident and implemented a reimbursement program for affected users. Additionally, Bitfresh has navigated regulatory challenges, particularly concerning compliance with local laws regarding cryptocurrency operations. The team has actively engaged with legal advisors to ensure adherence to evolving regulations, which is a common risk factor in the crypto space. Ongoing risks for Bitfresh include market volatility and potential future exploits, which are mitigated through regular security audits, community engagement, and a commitment to transparency in their operations. The project continues to prioritize user security and compliance as it evolves.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
