What is Pmail?
Pmail (PML) is a decentralized communication platform launched in 2021, designed to provide secure and private email services using blockchain technology. The project aims to address the growing concerns around data privacy and security in traditional email systems by leveraging the transparency and immutability of blockchain. Pmail operates on its own blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enhances efficiency and scalability. The platform enables users to send and receive encrypted emails, ensuring that only intended recipients can access the content. Its native token, PML, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees for sending messages, staking for network security, and governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes regarding platform upgrades and features. Pmail stands out for its focus on privacy and user control, positioning itself as a significant player in the evolving landscape of secure communication solutions. By integrating blockchain technology into email services, Pmail aims to redefine how individuals and organizations communicate online, prioritizing security and confidentiality.
When and how did Pmail start?
Pmail originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision for a decentralized email solution. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. Following successful testing, Pmail transitioned to its mainnet launch in November 2021, marking its official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a secure and user-friendly platform for decentralized communication, emphasizing privacy and data ownership. The initial distribution of Pmail tokens occurred through a fair launch model in December 2021, which aimed to ensure equitable access for participants. These foundational steps established Pmail's ecosystem and set the stage for its growth in the decentralized communication space.

This fosters innovation and enhances the overall functionality of the ecosystem. Furthermore, various wallets and platforms support PML, enabling users to manage their tokens effectively and access a range of services, including messaging and data sharing. Overall, Pmail offers a comprehensive suite of utilities that cater to users, holders, and developers alike, promoting an active and engaged community.
Is Pmail still active or relevant?
Pmail remains active through a recent update announced in September 2023, which introduced enhancements to its messaging features and security protocols. The project is currently focusing on improving user experience and expanding its integration capabilities within decentralized applications. Pmail has maintained a presence on several trading platforms, indicating ongoing market interest and activity. Additionally, the project has an active community on social media, where it engages users and shares updates, further supporting its relevance in the crypto ecosystem. These indicators affirm Pmail's continued significance within the decentralized communication sector.
Who is Pmail designed for?
Pmail is designed for consumers and businesses seeking secure and private communication solutions. It enables users to send and receive messages without compromising their privacy, addressing the growing demand for secure digital communication. Pmail provides user-friendly tools and resources, including a dedicated wallet for managing tokens and an API for developers to integrate Pmail functionalities into their applications. Secondary participants, such as developers and validators, engage with Pmail through its governance and staking mechanisms, allowing them to contribute to the platform's development and security. This multi-faceted approach supports a diverse ecosystem where both end-users and technical contributors can collaborate and benefit from enhanced privacy and security in their communications.
How is Pmail secured?
Pmail utilizes a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model allows participants to stake their tokens, which not only secures the network but also incentivizes them to act honestly. Validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to lock up as collateral. The protocol employs advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography protects against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. Additionally, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize validators who act maliciously or fail to fulfill their responsibilities, thereby discouraging dishonest behavior. The network's resilience is further enhanced by regular audits, governance processes, and a diverse client implementation, ensuring robust security and operational integrity.
Has Pmail faced any controversy or risks?
Pmail has faced some risks related to its privacy features and the potential for regulatory scrutiny. In mid-2023, concerns arose regarding the compliance of its privacy protocols with evolving data protection regulations. The team responded by conducting a thorough review of their privacy measures and engaging with legal experts to ensure alignment with applicable laws. They implemented updates to their privacy policy and enhanced user consent mechanisms to address these concerns. Additionally, Pmail has been proactive in addressing technical vulnerabilities. In early 2023, a minor security incident was reported involving unauthorized access attempts to user accounts. The team quickly patched the vulnerability and conducted a security audit to identify and rectify any weaknesses. They also established a bug bounty program to incentivize community members to report potential security issues. Ongoing risks for Pmail include market volatility and regulatory changes, which are common in the blockchain space. The team continues to mitigate these risks through regular audits, transparency in operations, and active engagement with the community to foster trust and resilience.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
