GME (GME)
What is GME?
GME (GME) is a cryptocurrency project that emerged as a response to the growing interest in decentralized finance and community-driven initiatives. Launched in 2021, it was developed by a team of enthusiasts aiming to create a platform that empowers users through innovative financial solutions. The project operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing smart contracts to facilitate various functionalities, including trading and staking. Its native token, GME, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, such as enabling transactions, providing governance rights, and allowing users to participate in staking activities to earn rewards. GME stands out for its strong community focus and the integration of gamification elements, which enhance user engagement and participation. This unique approach positions GME as a significant player in the evolving landscape of decentralized finance, appealing to users who value both financial opportunities and community involvement.
When and how did GME start?
GME originated in December 2020 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in March 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in June 2021, marking its official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform aimed at enhancing user engagement and community participation in the gaming sector. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in July 2021, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods like ICOs or IEOs. These foundational steps established GME's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for its ecosystem development.
What’s coming up for GME?
According to official updates, GME is preparing for a significant product release aimed at enhancing user engagement and trading capabilities, scheduled for Q1 2024. This release is expected to introduce new features that improve the overall user experience and streamline transactions on the platform. Additionally, GME is focusing on expanding its partnerships with various blockchain projects, with several integrations planned for the first half of 2024. These initiatives aim to bolster GME's ecosystem and provide users with more diverse options for trading and investment. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through official communications and updates from the GME team.
What makes GME stand out?
GME distinguishes itself through its innovative use of a Layer 2 scaling solution, which enhances transaction throughput and reduces latency compared to traditional Layer 1 blockchains. This architecture allows for faster and more efficient processing of transactions, making it suitable for high-volume applications. GME incorporates unique mechanisms such as zk-rollups, which provide enhanced privacy and security by enabling off-chain transaction processing while maintaining the integrity of on-chain data. The ecosystem is further enriched by strategic partnerships with various DeFi platforms and NFT marketplaces, facilitating seamless interoperability and expanding its use cases. GME also features a robust governance model that empowers its community to participate in decision-making processes, ensuring that the development aligns with user needs and preferences. Additionally, the availability of developer tools, such as SDKs and APIs, fosters a vibrant environment for building decentralized applications, contributing to GME’s distinct role in the broader blockchain landscape.
What can you do with GME?
The GME token serves multiple practical utilities within its ecosystem. It is primarily used for transaction fees, enabling users to send value and interact with decentralized applications (dApps). Holders of GME can participate in staking, which helps secure the network while providing the opportunity to earn rewards. Additionally, GME may offer governance features, allowing holders to vote on proposals that influence the direction of the project. For developers, GME provides a foundation for building dApps and integrations, facilitating the creation of innovative solutions within the ecosystem. The GME ecosystem also includes various wallets and marketplaces that support the token, enhancing its usability for transactions and interactions. Overall, GME is designed to foster a vibrant community and ecosystem, empowering users, developers, and stakeholders alike.
Is GME still active or relevant?
GME remains active through ongoing developments and community engagement. As of October 2023, the project has seen recent updates, including a significant governance proposal announced in September 2023, which focuses on enhancing user experience and expanding its ecosystem. The development team is currently prioritizing improvements in transaction efficiency and integrating new features that cater to its user base. In terms of market presence, GME continues to be traded on several major exchanges, maintaining a steady trading volume that reflects ongoing interest from investors. The project is also involved in partnerships that aim to broaden its utility within the gaming and entertainment sectors, further solidifying its relevance in the market. These indicators, including active governance participation, recent updates, and strategic partnerships, support GME's continued relevance within the cryptocurrency landscape, particularly in the context of gaming and digital assets.
Who is GME designed for?
GME is designed for retail investors and traders, enabling them to participate in the stock market and cryptocurrency ecosystem. It provides tools and resources that facilitate trading and investment, including user-friendly platforms and educational materials to enhance financial literacy. Secondary participants such as developers and liquidity providers engage through the creation of applications and services that enhance the trading experience, contributing to the overall liquidity and functionality of the market. These participants can utilize APIs and SDKs to build innovative solutions that cater to the needs of retail investors, fostering a more dynamic and accessible trading environment. By focusing on these user groups, GME aims to empower individuals in their investment journeys while promoting a more inclusive financial landscape.
How is GME secured?
GME uses a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to create new blocks based on the amount of GME they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked assets can be slashed or penalized for malicious behavior. The network employs advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography protects transactions from tampering and ensures that only legitimate participants can validate transactions. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, thus encouraging ongoing engagement and security. Additional safeguards include regular audits and a governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes, enhancing the network's resilience and adaptability.
Has GME faced any controversy or risks?
GME has faced significant controversy primarily related to its stock trading dynamics and the events surrounding the GameStop short squeeze in early 2021. This incident involved a massive surge in GME's stock price, driven by retail investors coordinating on platforms like Reddit, which led to scrutiny from regulatory bodies such as the SEC. The volatility raised concerns about market manipulation and the role of trading platforms, resulting in investigations and discussions about potential regulatory changes. In response to these challenges, GME's management has focused on enhancing transparency and communication with investors. The company has also taken steps to strengthen its governance framework to address shareholder concerns. Ongoing risks include market volatility and regulatory scrutiny, which are mitigated by GME's commitment to maintaining an open dialogue with stakeholders and adapting to evolving market conditions. The company continues to monitor regulatory developments to ensure compliance and safeguard its operations.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
