Zondacrypto halts withdrawals, sacks staff, CEO missing
Zondacrypto has frozen client withdrawals and dismissed much of its staff while blocking access to internal systems. Prosecutors already see hundreds of potential victims and losses of at least 350 million zloty.

Withdrawals halted and losses mount
Zondacrypto has stopped processing client withdrawals on its cryptocurrency trading platform. Staff estimates suggest arrears may exceed 500 million zloty, while prosecutors confirm at least 350 million zloty in potential losses. Prosecutors have already identified hundreds of possible victims linked to the blocked funds. Media reports and legal analysis describe large transfers from Zondacrypto wallets to external exchange addresses between December 2025 and April 2026.
Staff dismissals and systems blocked
According to internal communication, Zondacrypto chief executive officer Przemysław Kral informed employees that access to internal programs would be blocked. The same message stated that staff were released from performing their work and services from that day. Other reports describe human resources contacting employees to complete terminations through electronic signatures. Media coverage describes Zondacrypto as winding down operations while clients still wait for access to their funds.
"[Translated from Polish] From today, I am blocking access to internal programs, which will be specially secured. This means that from today you are released from performing your work and providing your services." — Przemysław Kral, CEO, Zondacrypto (BB Trade Estonia OÜ)
Chief executive unreachable for staff
Zondacrypto employees report that the chief executive remains unreachable on normal communication channels. They say he appears online in company chat tools but does not answer messages, calls, or emails. Polish and international media report that they have been unable to reach him for comment during the withdrawal freeze. Some outlets repeat claims about an additional passport, but these details remain based on unofficial findings and are not confirmed by official documents.
Estonian entity faces tax arrears
BB Trade Estonia OÜ, the Estonian company behind the Zondacrypto platform, has recorded tax arrears in the Estonian tax service. The reported outstanding amount is 1,112.12 euro as of a Monday entry referenced in reporting. Earlier, the same company appeared on the list of the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit in July 2025 for failing to submit an auditor report on its own funds. These records indicate compliance issues noted by Estonian authorities around the operating entity responsible for the exchange.
