DefHold (DEFO)
What is DefHold?
DefHold (DEFO) is a cryptocurrency token designed to incentivize long-term holding by offering rewards to its users. It runs on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing smart contracts to implement its unique deflationary and reward mechanisms. The primary purpose of the DefHold token is to provide a governance feature for its community, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes related to the project's development and future direction. Additionally, DefHold employs a system of yield farming and staking, where users can earn rewards by locking their tokens within the ecosystem. As a blockchain project, DefHold aims to create a sustainable and rewarding environment for its participants.
When and how did DefHold start?
DefHold (DEFO) was launched in 2020 as a decentralized finance (DeFi) project aimed at providing innovative staking solutions without inflation. The project was developed by an anonymous team, which is a common practice in the DeFi space to maintain decentralization and focus on community governance. DefHold quickly gained attention for its unique approach to yield farming and staking, which involved no token inflation, setting it apart from many other DeFi projects. It was initially listed on several decentralized exchanges, which facilitated its early adoption and trading. The project’s development and community engagement were key factors in shaping its early growth and market presence.
What’s coming up for DefHold?
DefHold (DEFO) is gearing up for an exciting phase with several roadmap updates and community-driven initiatives. The team is focused on enhancing the platform's utility by introducing advanced staking features and expanding its yield generation capabilities. A key upcoming feature is the integration of multi-chain support, which aims to broaden access and improve liquidity across different blockchain networks. The community is actively involved in shaping future plans, with discussions around governance improvements and potential partnerships to bolster the ecosystem. These developments are expected to solidify DefHold's position as a leading platform for maximizing returns in the decentralized finance space.
What makes DefHold stand out?
DefHold (DEFO) is unique compared to other cryptocurrencies due to its innovative tokenomics, which include dynamic staking rewards and a deflationary mechanism. Unlike typical cryptocurrencies, DefHold implements special features such as automatic liquidity provision and a buyback-and-burn system that reduces supply over time, potentially increasing token value. This standout technology is designed to incentivize long-term holding and provide stability, making it different from traditional staking models.
What can you do with DefHold?
DefHold (DEFO) is primarily used for staking, allowing users to earn rewards by locking their tokens within the platform. It also serves as a utility token within the DefHold ecosystem, facilitating participation in governance decisions. Additionally, DEFO can be used in various DeFi apps to enhance yield farming opportunities.
Is DefHold still active or relevant?
As of the latest update, DefHold (DEFO) is considered an inactive project, with no recent developer updates or active community presence. The coin is no longer actively traded on major exchanges, indicating it may have been abandoned. For more detailed information, visit their official website at [defhold.com](https://defhold.com).
Who is DefHold designed for?
DefHold (DEFO) is built for investors and DeFi users seeking to maximize returns through innovative staking and yield farming mechanisms. It targets a community of crypto enthusiasts interested in holding assets with reduced risk of impermanent loss, providing an ideal platform for those looking to optimize their investment strategies within the decentralized finance space.
How is DefHold secured?
DefHold (DEFO) secures its network using the Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, which relies on validators to maintain blockchain protection and network security. Validators are chosen based on the number of tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral, ensuring an efficient and secure transaction validation process. This method enhances security by aligning the incentives of validators with the health and integrity of the network.
Has DefHold faced any controversy or risks?
As of the latest available information, DefHold (DEFO) has not been widely reported to have specific controversies such as hacks, rug pulls, or legal issues. However, like many cryptocurrencies, it is subject to market volatility, which poses a risk to investors. It is crucial for potential investors to conduct thorough research and remain cautious of the inherent risks associated with crypto investments.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
