What is Immutable?
Immutable is a cryptocurrency that serves as the native token of the Immutable blockchain project, designed specifically for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and gaming applications. It runs on the Ethereum blockchain, leveraging its smart contract capabilities to facilitate secure and efficient transactions. The Immutable token is primarily used for governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes within the ecosystem, as well as for transactions and staking within the platform. This blockchain-based asset aims to empower developers and gamers by providing a scalable and user-friendly environment for creating and trading NFTs.
When and how did Immutable start?
Immutable was launched in 2021 and is developed by Immutable, an Australian blockchain technology company co-founded by James Ferguson, Robbie Ferguson, and Alex Connolly. The project focuses on creating a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, specifically designed for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and gaming applications. In its early development, Immutable raised significant funding, securing $15 million in a Series A round led by Naspers Ventures, which helped propel its growth and visibility in the blockchain space. The platform was initially listed on various exchanges, enhancing its accessibility to investors and users.
What’s coming up for Immutable?
Immutable is set to enhance its ecosystem with several exciting updates on its roadmap. Upcoming features include the launch of Immutable zkEVM, which aims to provide scalable and cost-effective solutions for developers and users alike. The community can also look forward to increased engagement through new partnerships and initiatives that promote game development on the platform. As Immutable continues to evolve, its focus on expanding use cases in gaming and NFTs positions it as a key player in the blockchain space. Stay tuned for more developments as Immutable works towards its ambitious future goals.
What makes Immutable stand out?
Immutable is unique compared to other cryptocurrencies due to its standout technology that leverages zero-knowledge rollups, enabling fast and cost-effective transactions on the Ethereum network. Its special feature includes a focus on gaming and NFTs, providing real-world use cases that empower developers to create scalable blockchain games with true ownership of in-game assets. This innovative approach to tokenomics and ecosystem development distinguishes Immutable as a leader in the blockchain gaming sector.
What can you do with Immutable?
Immutable is primarily used for transactions within the Immutable X platform, enabling fast and secure payments for NFTs. Users can stake the token to earn rewards and participate in governance decisions related to the protocol's development. Additionally, it serves as a utility token within various DeFi apps, enhancing user engagement and access to exclusive features.
Is Immutable still active or relevant?
Immutable is currently active, with ongoing development and a robust community presence. It continues to be traded on various exchanges, reflecting sustained interest and engagement from users and developers alike. The project is not considered inactive or abandoned, as it regularly releases updates and improvements.
Who is Immutable designed for?
Immutable is primarily built for developers and gamers, targeting those interested in blockchain-based gaming and NFTs. Its platform is ideal for creating and trading digital assets, appealing to a community of game developers looking to integrate blockchain technology into their projects. Additionally, it serves investors and businesses seeking to leverage the potential of immutable digital ownership.
How is Immutable secured?
Immutable secures its network through a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Stake, which enhances network security by requiring validators to stake their tokens to participate in the block validation process. This validator setup ensures that only those who have a vested interest in the network's success can validate transactions, providing robust blockchain protection against malicious activities. The combination of staking and a decentralized validator network reinforces the integrity and security of the Immutable ecosystem.
Has Immutable faced any controversy or risks?
Immutable has faced challenges related to extreme volatility, which poses a significant risk for investors. Additionally, the broader NFT space, where Immutable operates, has experienced controversies such as security incidents and potential legal issues regarding intellectual property rights. While there have been no major hacks or rug pulls directly associated with Immutable, the overall market environment remains susceptible to such threats.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
