CRAB (CRAB token) is a cryptocurrency designed to facilitate seamless transactions within its ecosystem. It operates on the Ethereum blockchain, leveraging smart contract technology to enhance its functionality. The core purpose of the CRAB token is to enable users to participate in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and governance within the CRAB blockchain project. By providing a secure and efficient means of exchange, CRAB aims to empower users and foster community engagement in the growing DeFi landscape.
When and how did CRAB start?
CRAB was launched in 2021, created by a team of developers aiming to provide a unique decentralized finance (DeFi) experience. The project gained early traction through its innovative tokenomics and community-driven initiatives. Initially listed on several decentralized exchanges, CRAB quickly attracted attention for its liquidity pools and yield farming opportunities. Major events in its early development included partnerships with other DeFi projects and participation in various blockchain conferences, which helped to establish its presence in the competitive crypto market.
What’s coming up for CRAB?
CRAB is poised for significant growth with its upcoming roadmap updates aimed at enhancing user engagement and expanding its ecosystem. The next upgrade will introduce advanced staking features, allowing community members to earn rewards while supporting network security. Additionally, CRAB plans to launch a decentralized exchange (DEX) in Q1 2024, facilitating seamless trading and liquidity for users. The team is committed to fostering community involvement through regular feedback sessions and governance proposals, ensuring that the future direction aligns with the needs of its users. With these developments, CRAB aims to solidify its position in the crypto space and enhance its utility across various platforms.
What makes CRAB stand out?
CRAB stands out from other cryptocurrencies due to its unique dual-token model, which enhances liquidity and incentivizes user participation in its ecosystem. Unlike many cryptocurrencies that rely on traditional proof-of-work or proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms, CRAB employs a novel consensus algorithm that optimizes transaction speed and energy efficiency. Its real-world use case focuses on decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, enabling users to access a variety of financial services while benefiting from its innovative tokenomics.
What can you do with CRAB?
CRAB is primarily used as a utility token within its ecosystem, enabling users to engage in staking for rewards and participate in governance decisions. It facilitates payments within various DeFi apps, allowing for seamless transactions and interactions. Additionally, CRAB can be utilized for purchasing and trading NFTs, enhancing its utility across multiple platforms.
Is CRAB still active or relevant?
CRAB is currently active, with ongoing development and a dedicated community presence. It is still traded on various platforms, indicating sustained interest and engagement. Recent developer updates suggest that the project is not abandoned or inactive, maintaining its relevance in the crypto space.
Who is CRAB designed for?
CRAB is primarily built for DeFi users and investors seeking innovative financial solutions within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Its target audience includes developers looking to create decentralized applications, as well as a niche community of crypto enthusiasts interested in enhancing their trading strategies. The platform aims to foster a collaborative environment for users to explore and leverage decentralized finance opportunities.
How is CRAB secured?
CRAB secures its network through a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Stake (PoS), which enhances blockchain protection by allowing validators to participate in block creation based on the number of tokens they hold and are willing to "stake." This model promotes decentralization and network security, as validators are incentivized to act honestly to maintain their stake and earn rewards, ensuring the integrity of the blockchain.
Has CRAB faced any controversy or risks?
CRAB has faced significant volatility, posing a risk to investors due to sudden price fluctuations. Additionally, the project has been scrutinized for potential security incidents, including allegations of a rug pull that raised concerns about its long-term viability. Legal issues surrounding the project's compliance with regulatory standards further complicate its standing in the cryptocurrency market.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
