What is BUILD?
BUILD (BUILD) is a blockchain project launched in 2021, designed to facilitate the development and deployment of decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts. The project aims to empower developers by providing a robust platform that simplifies the creation of blockchain-based solutions. Operating on a native Layer 1 blockchain, BUILD utilizes a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, which enhances scalability and energy efficiency. Its native token, BUILD, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking rewards, and governance, allowing token holders to participate in decision-making processes related to the platform's development. BUILD stands out for its focus on developer accessibility and community engagement, offering comprehensive tools and resources to streamline the dApp development process. This emphasis on usability and support positions BUILD as a significant player in the blockchain space, catering to both new and experienced developers looking to leverage blockchain technology for innovative applications.
When and how did BUILD start?
BUILD originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in September 2021, marking its initial public availability for users. Early development focused on creating a robust ecosystem for decentralized applications, emphasizing scalability and user engagement. The token's initial distribution occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in October 2021, which facilitated funding for further development and community building. These foundational steps established the groundwork for BUILD’s growth and the expansion of its ecosystem in the following years.
What’s coming up for BUILD?
According to official updates, BUILD is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade scheduled for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and performance. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, BUILD is working on a strategic partnership with a leading blockchain platform, expected to be finalized by mid-2024, which will facilitate greater interoperability and expand its ecosystem. Governance decisions are also on the horizon, with a community vote planned for Q2 2024 to determine the future direction of the project. These milestones are intended to bolster BUILD's position in the market and enhance its utility for users, with progress being tracked through official channels.

Who is BUILD designed for?
BUILD is designed for developers and users, enabling them to create and utilize decentralized applications effectively. It provides a robust set of tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration into various platforms. The project aims to empower developers by offering comprehensive documentation and support, allowing them to build innovative solutions on the BUILD ecosystem. Secondary participants such as validators and liquidity providers engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters a vibrant community where creators can thrive, ensuring that the ecosystem remains dynamic and responsive to user needs. Overall, BUILD serves as a versatile platform that caters to a diverse audience, promoting growth and innovation within the blockchain space.
How is BUILD secured?
BUILD employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of BUILD tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked tokens can be slashed or penalized for malicious behavior. The network utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography protects against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network, promoting active engagement. Additionally, governance mechanisms are in place to allow token holders to participate in decision-making processes, ensuring that the community has a voice in the evolution of the protocol. Regular audits and a focus on multi-client diversity further enhance the network's resilience against vulnerabilities and attacks.
Has BUILD faced any controversy or risks?
BUILD has faced some risks related to regulatory scrutiny and technical vulnerabilities. In early 2023, the project encountered a security incident involving a smart contract exploit that resulted in a temporary loss of funds. The team promptly addressed the issue by implementing a patch to the affected contract and conducting a thorough audit to identify and rectify vulnerabilities. They also initiated a reimbursement program for impacted users to restore trust within the community. Additionally, BUILD has been subject to regulatory discussions, particularly concerning compliance with local laws in various jurisdictions. The team has actively engaged with legal advisors to ensure adherence to evolving regulations, which is a common challenge for many blockchain projects. Ongoing risks include market volatility and potential future regulatory changes, which the team mitigates through transparent communication, regular audits, and a commitment to best development practices.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
