What is Bonfire?
Bonfire (BONFIRE) is a cryptocurrency project launched in 2021, designed to create a community-driven ecosystem that emphasizes charitable contributions and social impact. The project operates on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), leveraging its low transaction fees and fast processing times to facilitate various transactions within its ecosystem. The native token, BONFIRE, serves multiple purposes, including transaction fees, staking, and participation in community initiatives. Users can hold and trade BONFIRE tokens, which are also utilized in the project's unique charity mechanisms, allowing holders to contribute to selected causes directly through their token holdings. Bonfire stands out for its focus on community engagement and philanthropy, integrating social responsibility into its framework. This positioning not only enhances its appeal to socially conscious investors but also aims to foster a sense of community among its users, making it significant in the broader landscape of cryptocurrency projects.
When and how did Bonfire start?
Bonfire originated in December 2020 when a team of developers released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and objectives. The project aimed to create a community-driven token that would empower users through various decentralized finance (DeFi) features. Bonfire launched its mainnet shortly after the whitepaper release, marking its initial public availability. Early development focused on building a robust ecosystem that included features such as token burning and rewards for holders. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in December 2020, allowing participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods like ICOs or IEOs. This approach fostered a strong community engagement from the outset, establishing the foundation for Bonfire's subsequent growth and ecosystem formation.
What’s coming up for Bonfire?
According to official updates, Bonfire is preparing for a series of enhancements aimed at improving user experience and expanding its ecosystem. The next major milestone includes the launch of a revamped user interface, scheduled for Q1 2024, which focuses on making the platform more accessible and user-friendly. Additionally, Bonfire is working on integrating new features that will enhance community engagement and governance, with a targeted rollout in Q2 2024. The team is also exploring partnerships with other projects to expand its reach and utility, with announcements expected in the coming months. These initiatives aim to bolster Bonfire's position in the market and enhance its overall functionality. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through their official channels, ensuring transparency and community involvement in the development process.
What makes Bonfire stand out?
Bonfire distinguishes itself through its unique tokenomics and community-driven approach, which fosters a strong sense of engagement among its users. The project operates on the Binance Smart Chain, leveraging its low transaction fees and fast confirmation times, which enhances user experience and accessibility. Bonfire employs a deflationary model, incorporating a burn mechanism that reduces the total supply over time, potentially increasing the value for holders. Additionally, Bonfire features a dedicated ecosystem that includes a decentralized application (dApp) platform, allowing developers to create and deploy their own projects within the Bonfire framework. This encourages innovation and expands the utility of the Bonfire token. The project also emphasizes community governance, enabling token holders to participate in decision-making processes, which strengthens community ties and aligns the project’s direction with user interests. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, Bonfire aims to enhance its ecosystem and provide additional resources and tools for developers, further solidifying its position in the crypto landscape.
What can you do with Bonfire?
The BONFIRE token serves multiple practical utilities within its ecosystem. Primarily, it is used for transactions and fees, enabling users to send value and interact with decentralized applications (dApps). Holders can participate in staking, which helps secure the network while potentially earning rewards. Additionally, BONFIRE may offer governance features, allowing holders to vote on proposals that influence the direction of the project. For developers, Bonfire provides tools for building dApps and integrations, fostering innovation within its ecosystem. The platform supports various wallets and marketplaces that facilitate the use of BONFIRE for transactions and other functionalities. Users can also benefit from potential discounts or rewards when engaging with services that accept BONFIRE, enhancing its utility beyond mere transactions. Overall, BONFIRE aims to create a versatile environment for holders, users, and developers alike.
Is Bonfire still active or relevant?
Bonfire remains active through a series of updates and community engagements in 2023. Who is Bonfire designed for?
Bonfire is designed for a primary audience of cryptocurrency enthusiasts and retail investors, enabling them to participate in a community-driven ecosystem. It provides tools and resources such as user-friendly wallets and educational materials to support engagement and investment in the Bonfire token. Secondary participants include developers and content creators who can leverage Bonfire's platform to build applications or contribute to community initiatives. These users engage through governance mechanisms and community events, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances the overall ecosystem. By focusing on accessibility and community involvement, Bonfire aims to empower users at various levels of expertise, from novice investors to experienced developers.
How is Bonfire secured?
Bonfire employs a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model allows participants to stake their tokens, which not only secures the network but also incentivizes them to act honestly. The protocol utilizes cryptographic techniques such as ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) for authentication and ensuring data integrity. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. Additionally, the protocol incorporates slashing mechanisms that penalize validators for malicious behavior or failure to validate transactions properly, thereby discouraging any attempts at fraud. To further enhance security, Bonfire implements regular audits and has established governance processes that allow the community to participate in decision-making. The diversity of client implementations also contributes to the resilience of the network, ensuring that it can withstand potential vulnerabilities and attacks.
Has Bonfire faced any controversy or risks?
Bonfire has faced controversy related to its tokenomics and community governance. In early 2021, the project was criticized for its high transaction fees and the lack of transparency regarding its liquidity pool and token distribution. This raised concerns among investors about the sustainability of the project and its long-term viability. The team responded by implementing a series of updates aimed at improving transparency, including detailed reports on token distribution and liquidity management. Additionally, there have been discussions within the community regarding the direction of the project and its governance model, leading to some disputes among holders. To address these issues, the Bonfire team has engaged with the community through AMAs (Ask Me Anything sessions) and feedback surveys to better align the project with the interests of its users. Ongoing risks for Bonfire include market volatility and regulatory scrutiny, common to many cryptocurrency projects. The team has committed to regular audits and updates to enhance security and maintain investor confidence.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
