When and how did Bitbull start?
Bitbull originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to explore its features and functionalities. This was followed by the mainnet launch in September 2021, marking its official entry into the market and enabling users to engage with the platform fully. Early development focused on creating a robust ecosystem for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, emphasizing security and user accessibility. The initial distribution of Bitbull tokens occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which aimed to ensure a broad and equitable distribution among participants. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Bitbull's growth and its subsequent integration into the broader cryptocurrency landscape.
What’s coming up for Bitbull?
According to official updates, Bitbull is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade aimed at enhancing its scalability and performance, scheduled for Q1 2024. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, Bitbull is working on integrating with several decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, with targeted partnerships expected to be announced in the coming months. Is Bitbull still active or relevant?
Bitbull remains active through a recent update announced in September 2023, which included enhancements to its trading algorithms and user interface. The project is currently focusing on improving its integration with decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, allowing users to leverage Bitbull for yield farming and liquidity provision. Additionally, Bitbull has maintained a presence on several major exchanges, facilitating consistent trading volume and user engagement. The project also engages its community through active governance proposals, with the latest voting session occurring in October 2023, indicating ongoing participation from stakeholders in decision-making processes. Furthermore, Bitbull has established partnerships with various blockchain projects, enhancing its ecosystem relevance and utility. Who is Bitbull designed for?
Bitbull is designed for individual investors and cryptocurrency enthusiasts, enabling them to effectively manage and grow their digital asset portfolios. It provides tools and resources, including user-friendly wallets and investment tracking features, to support seamless engagement with the cryptocurrency market. Secondary participants such as developers and liquidity providers can engage through APIs and SDKs, allowing them to build applications or contribute liquidity to the ecosystem. This multi-faceted approach ensures that both primary users and secondary participants can achieve their goals, whether that be maximizing investment returns or enhancing the overall functionality of the Bitbull platform. By catering to these diverse user groups, Bitbull fosters a collaborative environment that supports the growth and adoption of cryptocurrency.
How is Bitbull secured?
Bitbull employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model allows participants to stake their tokens, which are then used to secure the network and validate transactions. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure authentication and data integrity. Incentives for participants are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators based on their performance and the amount of cryptocurrency they have staked. To discourage malicious behavior, the network incorporates slashing penalties, which can result in a portion of a validator's staked tokens being forfeited if they act dishonestly or fail to validate transactions properly. Additional security measures include regular audits and a robust governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes. The diversity of client implementations further enhances the network's resilience against potential vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure and reliable environment for all users.
Has Bitbull faced any controversy or risks?
Bitbull has faced some controversy related to regulatory scrutiny and community governance issues. In early 2023, the project encountered challenges when certain regulatory bodies raised concerns about its compliance with local laws, particularly regarding token distribution and investor protections. The Bitbull team responded by enhancing their compliance framework, engaging legal advisors, and updating their whitepaper to clarify their operational practices. Additionally, there were reports of community disputes regarding governance decisions, particularly around proposed changes to the tokenomics structure. The team addressed these concerns by implementing a more transparent voting mechanism, allowing community members to have a greater say in governance matters. Ongoing risks for Bitbull include market volatility and potential regulatory changes, which are common in the crypto space. To mitigate these risks, the team has committed to regular audits and maintaining open communication with their community to ensure transparency and trust.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
