What is Access Protocol?
Access Protocol (ACS) is a blockchain-based project launched in 2022, designed to facilitate decentralized access to content and services. It aims to address the challenges of content monetization and user access in the digital landscape by enabling creators to offer their work directly to consumers without intermediaries. The project operates on a unique blockchain infrastructure that supports decentralized applications (dApps) and content distribution. Its native token, ACS, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including payment for access to content, staking for governance participation, and incentivizing user engagement. Access Protocol stands out for its innovative approach to content monetization, allowing users to pay for access to premium content using ACS tokens. This model not only empowers creators by providing them with a direct revenue stream but also enhances user experience by offering seamless access to diverse content. The protocol's focus on decentralization and user empowerment positions it as a significant player in the evolving landscape of digital content distribution.
When and how did Access Protocol start?
Access Protocol originated in October 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in December 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to explore its functionalities and provide feedback. Following the successful testnet phase, Access Protocol transitioned to its mainnet launch in March 2022, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized content monetization platform, aiming to empower creators and users by facilitating direct access to premium content. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in April 2022, which aimed to ensure equitable access for participants. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Access Protocol's growth and the development of its ecosystem, positioning it as a notable player in the decentralized content space.

Who is Access Protocol designed for?
Access Protocol is designed for content creators and consumers, enabling them to monetize and access premium content seamlessly. It provides tools and resources, including APIs and SDKs, to facilitate the integration of content monetization features into various platforms. This allows creators to establish direct relationships with their audiences while offering consumers a streamlined way to access exclusive content. Secondary participants, such as developers and liquidity providers, engage through governance and staking mechanisms, contributing to the overall ecosystem's growth and sustainability. By fostering a decentralized environment, Access Protocol aims to empower users by giving them control over their content and financial interactions, ultimately enhancing the value of digital content in the blockchain space.
How is Access Protocol secured?
Access Protocol employs a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model allows participants to stake their tokens, which not only secures the network but also incentivizes honest behavior among validators. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography underpins the transaction validation process, safeguarding against unauthorized access and ensuring that all transactions are verifiable. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. Additionally, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize malicious actions or failures to validate transactions correctly, thereby discouraging dishonest behavior. Access Protocol also incorporates various safeguards, such as regular audits and governance processes, to enhance its security framework. These measures contribute to the overall resilience of the network, ensuring that it remains robust against potential threats.
Has Access Protocol faced any controversy or risks?
Access Protocol has faced some risks primarily related to the broader challenges in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. As a decentralized platform, it operates in an environment susceptible to regulatory scrutiny, market volatility, and technical vulnerabilities. While there have been no widely reported incidents of security breaches or exploits specific to Access Protocol, the team remains vigilant about potential risks associated with smart contracts and user data privacy. To address these concerns, Access Protocol has implemented various security measures, including regular audits and updates to their smart contracts. They also maintain transparency with their community regarding any potential risks and the steps taken to mitigate them. Ongoing risks include market fluctuations and regulatory changes, which are common in the crypto industry. The project continues to focus on enhancing its security protocols and engaging with its community to ensure a robust and resilient platform.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
