Unidentified Person Spends $64,000 inscribing Encrypted Data on Bitcoin
Mystery Person Spends $64,000 to Add Unknown Data to Bitcoin Blockchain, Sparking Curiosity and Theories.
An unidentified person spent $64,000 to put 9 megabytes of unknown data on the Bitcoin blockchain.
On Jan. 7, Ord.io reported that someone spent over 1 Bitcoin to make 332 inscriptions of 'raw binary data' on Jan. 6. No one knows what this data means, so to discover what it means, some tried to use an AI to decipher it but even AI couldn't figure it out.
Leonidas from The Ordinal Show suggests the data might be encrypted, making it very hard to understand.
People are curious to know who added this mysterious data using the Bitcoin address 'bc1pnp…zwd0th.' This data includes English, Greek, and math symbols.
Interestingly, two inscriptions relate to the famous 10,000 BTC pizza purchase in 2010.
On another note, 26.9 BTC, worth $1.17 million, was sent to Bitcoin’s first-ever wallet on Jan. 5. This led to various guesses, like maybe the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, moved it, or someone just wasted a million dollars.
Lawyer Jeremy Hogan stated his theory, he thinks someone might be trying to find Nakamoto by making them report the money to U.S. tax authorities. But this idea depends on whether Nakamoto follows U.S. tax laws or is even a U.S. citizen.
