Binance US names Lesley O’Neill as Chief Compliance Officer amid increased SEC attention.

With the SEC closely watching crypto exchanges like Binance US, The crypto exchange is committed to increasing its compliance. To do this, Binance US named Lesley O’Neil as its Chief Compliance Officer.  

 O’Neill’s role is key in handling legal matters and enhancing the company's compliance. She has a strong background in legal and compliance roles from her time at Prove, EY, Milbank, and Bloomberg.

In her new position, O’Neill will focus on important areas such as anti-money laundering and customer verification. Her goal is to build trust with customers and regulators by improving the company’s adherence to rules.

The crypto industry is shifting towards more compliance and legal adherence. This is seen in Binance's recent legal settlements and the demand for compliance and tech experts in the industry.
