Methodology & data

How the ranking is built, what the confidence score means and where the numbers come from.

Volume ranking

Exchanges are ranked by adjusted 24-hour volume, highest first, within the selected exchange type. The rank stays the same when you search, filter or re-sort the table, so it always refers to the whole type.

Adjusted volume is CoinPaprika's volume figure after its data-quality adjustments. The 7-day and 30-day columns are totals for those periods, not daily history. Reported volume is not a verified measure of genuine trading.

Confidence score, not a safety rating

The confidence score (0–100%) is CoinPaprika's assessment of how reliable an exchange's market data is. The Liquidity view ranks exchanges by this score, highest first.

It says nothing about an exchange's solvency, security or suitability for you. Exchanges without a score are shown as "Not rated"; a missing score is never treated as zero.

Trending exchanges

Trending compares each exchange's 24-hour volume with its average daily volume over the last 7 days (7-day volume divided by 7), largest increase first. Only exchanges with at least $10M of 24-hour volume are included, so a small venue cannot top the list on a tiny base.

Sources and freshness

All figures come from the CoinPaprika API and update with it. The volume history chart shows total crypto market volume, not the sum of the exchanges listed here. Missing values are shown as a dash, never as zero.
