These indicators collectively support its continued relevance within the cryptocurrency sector, demonstrating that USD SMART is not only active but also evolving to meet the needs of its users.
Who is USD SMART designed for?
USD SMART is designed for consumers and institutions, enabling them to engage in seamless digital transactions and access decentralized finance (DeFi) services. It provides essential tools and resources, including user-friendly wallets and APIs, to facilitate easy integration and usage within various applications. Primary users, such as consumers, benefit from the ability to make secure payments and manage their digital assets efficiently. Institutions can leverage USD SMART for streamlined financial operations, enhancing their service offerings in the rapidly evolving crypto landscape. Secondary participants, including developers and liquidity providers, engage through governance mechanisms and liquidity pools, contributing to the ecosystem's growth and stability. By fostering collaboration among these user groups, USD SMART aims to create a robust and inclusive financial environment that meets diverse needs.
How is USD SMART secured?
USD SMART uses a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators confirm transactions and maintain the integrity of the network. In this model, participants can become validators by staking a certain amount of USD SMART tokens, which grants them the authority to validate transactions and create new blocks. This staking requirement helps ensure that validators have a vested interest in the network's security and performance. The protocol employs advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentives are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. Additionally, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize validators who act maliciously or fail to perform their duties, thereby discouraging dishonest behavior. The network's resilience is further enhanced by regular audits and governance processes that involve community participation, ensuring that the protocol remains secure and adaptable to emerging threats.
Has USD SMART faced any controversy or risks?
USD SMART has faced regulatory scrutiny related to its compliance with financial regulations, particularly concerning anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) requirements. In early 2023, the project was flagged by regulatory bodies for potential non-compliance, which raised concerns among investors and users about its operational legitimacy. The team responded by enhancing its compliance framework, implementing stricter KYC processes, and engaging with legal advisors to ensure adherence to applicable laws. Additionally, there have been reports of minor technical vulnerabilities in the smart contracts associated with USD SMART, which were addressed through a series of patches and audits conducted by third-party security firms. These measures aimed to bolster the platform's security and restore user confidence. Ongoing risks for USD SMART include market volatility and regulatory changes that could impact its operations. The project mitigates these risks through regular audits, transparent communication with its community, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with evolving regulations.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
