What is Renzo?
Renzo (REZ) is a blockchain project launched in 2023, designed to facilitate decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. It aims to address the challenges of traditional financial systems by providing users with a platform for secure and efficient transactions. The project operates on a native Layer 1 blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enhances scalability and energy efficiency. The native token, REZ, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking rewards, and governance participation, allowing holders to influence the project's development and decision-making processes. Renzo stands out for its focus on user-friendly interfaces and robust security features, making it accessible to both novice and experienced users. This positioning enhances its significance in the rapidly evolving DeFi landscape, as it seeks to empower individuals with greater control over their financial assets.
When and how did Renzo start?
Renzo originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. Following the successful testing phase, Renzo transitioned to its mainnet launch in September 2021, marking its official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a robust ecosystem for decentralized applications, emphasizing scalability and user accessibility. The initial distribution of Renzo tokens occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which aimed to ensure equitable access for participants. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Renzo's growth and the development of its community, setting the stage for future enhancements and ecosystem expansion.
What’s coming up for Renzo?
According to official updates, Renzo is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade scheduled for Q1 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and performance. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, Renzo is working on a strategic partnership with a leading blockchain platform, expected to be finalized by mid-2024, which will facilitate cross-chain integrations and broaden its ecosystem. These initiatives are part of Renzo's commitment to advancing its technology and expanding its user base. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through their official roadmap and development channels.

Who is Renzo designed for?
Renzo is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to create and utilize decentralized applications effectively. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and enhance user experience. Developers can leverage Renzo's infrastructure to build scalable solutions, while consumers benefit from a user-friendly interface that simplifies access to decentralized services. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage with Renzo through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. This collaborative environment fosters innovation and ensures that the ecosystem remains robust and dynamic, catering to the diverse needs of its user base. By focusing on both primary and secondary audiences, Renzo aims to create a comprehensive platform that supports a wide range of applications and use cases in the blockchain space.
How is Renzo secured?
Renzo employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. Validators are selected to propose and validate new blocks based on the amount of Renzo tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This model incentivizes participants to act honestly, as they risk losing their staked tokens in the event of malicious behavior, a process known as slashing. The network utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards transactions against unauthorized access and ensures that only legitimate participants can validate transactions. In addition to staking rewards for honest validators, Renzo incorporates governance mechanisms that allow token holders to participate in decision-making processes, further aligning incentives within the ecosystem. Regular audits and a commitment to multi-client diversity enhance the network's resilience against vulnerabilities, ensuring a robust and secure environment for all participants.
Has Renzo faced any controversy or risks?
Renzo has faced regulatory scrutiny related to its compliance with local laws in various jurisdictions, particularly concerning its token distribution and governance structure. In mid-2022, the project encountered challenges when certain regulatory bodies questioned its classification as a security, prompting the team to engage in discussions with legal advisors to ensure compliance. The team responded by implementing changes to its tokenomics and governance model to align with regulatory expectations, which included enhancing transparency in its operations. Additionally, Renzo has experienced minor technical risks associated with smart contract vulnerabilities, which were identified during routine audits. The development team promptly addressed these issues through code patches and subsequent audits to reinforce security. Ongoing risks for Renzo include market volatility and potential regulatory changes, which the team mitigates through regular updates to its community and maintaining a robust compliance framework.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
