Revshare (REVS)
What is Revshare?
Revshare (REVS) is a cryptocurrency project launched in 2021, designed to facilitate revenue sharing among its users. The primary purpose of Revshare is to create a decentralized platform that allows participants to earn rewards through a unique profit-sharing model, addressing the need for equitable distribution of earnings within the ecosystem. The project operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing smart contracts to automate and secure transactions. Its native token, REVS, serves multiple functions, including enabling transactions within the platform, participating in governance decisions, and incentivizing user engagement through staking and rewards. Revshare stands out for its innovative approach to revenue sharing, which aims to empower users by providing them with a stake in the platform's success. This model not only fosters community involvement but also enhances user loyalty, positioning Revshare as a significant player in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.
When and how did Revshare start?
Revshare originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing early users to engage with the platform and provide feedback. Following the successful testing phase, the mainnet was launched in September 2021, marking its official public availability. Early development focused on creating a decentralized ecosystem for revenue sharing among participants, aiming to enhance user engagement and incentivize contributions. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which allowed community members to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods. These foundational steps established Revshare's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for its ecosystem development.
What’s coming up for Revshare?
According to official updates, Revshare is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade planned for Q2 2024, aimed at enhancing scalability and user experience. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to optimize transaction speeds and reduce fees, making the platform more accessible for users. Additionally, Revshare is targeting a strategic partnership with a leading blockchain analytics firm, expected to be finalized by the end of Q1 2024. This collaboration aims to improve data transparency and user insights within the ecosystem. Progress on these initiatives will be tracked through Revshare's official communication channels, ensuring the community stays informed on developments and timelines.

Is Revshare still active or relevant?
Revshare remains active through a series of updates and community engagements in 2023. The project recently announced a governance proposal in September 2023 aimed at enhancing its ecosystem features, which indicates ongoing development and community involvement. Additionally, Revshare has maintained its presence on several trading platforms, showcasing consistent market activity and liquidity. The project is also focusing on integrating with decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, which expands its utility and relevance within the broader crypto ecosystem. Recent partnerships with other blockchain projects have further solidified its standing, allowing for cross-platform functionalities that enhance user experience. These indicators support Revshare's continued relevance within the cryptocurrency sector, demonstrating that it is not only active but also evolving to meet the demands of its user base and the market.
Who is Revshare designed for?
Revshare is designed for consumers and content creators, enabling them to monetize their digital assets and share in revenue generated through various platforms. It provides tools and resources, including user-friendly wallets and APIs, to facilitate seamless transactions and engagement with the ecosystem. Primary users, such as content creators, can leverage Revshare to earn income from their contributions, while consumers benefit from access to a diverse range of content and services. The platform aims to empower these users by offering a transparent and efficient revenue-sharing model that aligns with their goals of financial gain and content distribution. Secondary participants, including developers and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the overall functionality and sustainability of the Revshare ecosystem. This collaborative environment fosters innovation and growth, allowing all participants to benefit from the shared success of the platform.
How is Revshare secured?
Revshare employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to create new blocks based on the amount of Revshare tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This staking process not only secures the network but also incentivizes participants to act honestly, as they have a financial stake in the system. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are valid and tamper-proof. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. Additionally, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize validators who act maliciously or fail to fulfill their responsibilities, thereby discouraging dishonest behavior. The network's resilience is further enhanced by regular audits and governance processes that involve community participation, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Has Revshare faced any controversy or risks?
Revshare has faced scrutiny regarding its operational transparency and regulatory compliance since its inception. In early 2023, concerns were raised about its revenue-sharing model, which some critics argued resembled multi-level marketing schemes, potentially attracting regulatory attention. The team responded by enhancing their communication with the community and providing clearer documentation on their business practices to address these concerns. Additionally, there have been reports of minor technical vulnerabilities related to smart contracts, which were promptly addressed through updates and audits. The Revshare team implemented a bug bounty program to encourage community participation in identifying potential issues before they could be exploited. Ongoing risks for Revshare include market volatility, regulatory changes, and technical challenges common to blockchain projects. To mitigate these risks, the team emphasizes regular audits, transparent governance practices, and proactive engagement with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and maintain user trust.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
