The Lien token operates on the Ethereum blockchain and is used for governance, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes within the ecosystem. This blockchain project aims to provide users with innovative financial solutions while enhancing liquidity and accessibility in the DeFi space.
When and how did Lien start?
Lien (LIEN) was launched in 2020, created by a team focused on providing decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. The project aims to bridge traditional finance with blockchain technology, offering users a platform for collateralized loans and asset management. Lien initially gained traction after being listed on major exchanges, which helped increase its visibility and user adoption. The platform's development has been marked by strategic partnerships and enhancements to its ecosystem, positioning it as a notable player in the DeFi space.
What’s coming up for Lien?
Lien (LIEN) is set to enhance its platform with several exciting updates on its roadmap. The upcoming release will focus on integrating advanced DeFi features, including improved liquidity options and yield farming capabilities, aimed at expanding user engagement. Additionally, the community plans to host a series of educational webinars to foster understanding of Lien’s unique offerings and encourage participation in governance decisions. As Lien evolves, its emphasis on scalability and user-centric solutions is expected to drive broader adoption and innovative use cases in the DeFi space.
What makes Lien stand out?
Lien stands out in the cryptocurrency space due to its unique hybrid model that combines decentralized finance (DeFi) with real-world asset tokenization, allowing users to leverage their assets for loans while ensuring liquidity. Compared to other cryptocurrencies, Lien's special feature is its innovative use of a collateralized debt position (CDP) mechanism, which enhances security and flexibility in transactions. This approach not only facilitates a seamless integration of traditional assets into the blockchain ecosystem but also supports diverse use cases in lending and borrowing, making it a compelling option for both investors and borrowers.
What can you do with Lien?
Lien is primarily used for payments within the Lien ecosystem, facilitating transactions across various platforms. Is Lien still active or relevant?
Lien is currently active and still traded on several exchanges, indicating a sustained interest in the project. Development is ongoing, with recent updates from the team showcasing their commitment to improving the platform. Who is Lien designed for?
Lien is primarily built for DeFi users and investors seeking innovative financial solutions. Its platform is designed to facilitate decentralized lending and borrowing, appealing to those looking to leverage their crypto assets effectively. With a focus on enhancing liquidity and providing unique financial products, Lien aims to attract a community of users interested in maximizing their investment potential within the decentralized finance ecosystem.
How is Lien secured?
Lien secures its network through a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Stake (PoS), where validators are selected to create new blocks and confirm transactions based on the amount of Lien tokens they hold and are willing to "stake." This model enhances network security by incentivizing validators to act honestly, as their staked assets can be slashed for malicious behavior, ensuring robust blockchain protection and integrity.
Has Lien faced any controversy or risks?
Lien has faced significant challenges, including notable volatility that can lead to rapid price fluctuations, posing risks for investors. The project has also been scrutinized for potential security incidents and concerns over its long-term sustainability, raising questions about its reliability. Additionally, there have been allegations of a rug pull, further intensifying the controversy surrounding its legitimacy and investor trust.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
