What is Exobots?
Exobots (EXOS) is a blockchain-based project launched in 2023, designed to facilitate automated trading and investment strategies in the cryptocurrency market. The project aims to empower users by providing advanced trading bots that operate on various exchanges, allowing for efficient and effective trading without requiring extensive market knowledge. Exobots operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing smart contracts to ensure secure and transparent transactions. Its native token, EXOS, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking rewards, and governance, enabling token holders to participate in decision-making processes regarding the platform's future developments. What sets Exobots apart is its focus on user-friendly automation tools that cater to both novice and experienced traders, making sophisticated trading strategies accessible to a broader audience. This unique approach positions Exobots as a significant player in the growing field of automated trading solutions within the cryptocurrency landscape.
When and how did Exobots start?
Exobots originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following successful testing, the mainnet was launched in December 2021, marking the project's transition to a fully operational state. Early development focused on creating a decentralized ecosystem for automated trading and bot deployment, catering to both novice and experienced traders. The initial distribution of Exobots tokens occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in January 2022, which aimed to raise funds for further development and marketing efforts. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Exobots's growth and its subsequent integration into the broader cryptocurrency market.
What’s coming up for Exobots?
According to official updates, Exobots is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade aimed at enhancing user experience and scalability, scheduled for Q1 2024. This upgrade will introduce new features designed to improve transaction speeds and reduce fees, making the platform more accessible to users. Additionally, Exobots is set to launch a new integration with a major decentralized finance (DeFi) platform in Q2 2024, which will expand its ecosystem and provide users with more financial tools. The team is also planning a governance vote in Q3 2024 to involve the community in key decision-making processes regarding future developments. These milestones are part of Exobots' ongoing commitment to innovation and user engagement, with progress being tracked through their official channels.

Who is Exobots designed for?
Exobots is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to create and utilize automated trading strategies in the cryptocurrency market. It provides essential tools and resources, including APIs and SDKs, to facilitate the development of trading bots and enhance user engagement with automated trading solutions. Primary users, such as developers, can leverage Exobots to build and customize their trading algorithms, allowing for greater flexibility and innovation in trading practices. Consumers benefit from user-friendly interfaces that simplify the process of engaging with automated trading, helping them to optimize their investment strategies without requiring extensive technical knowledge. Secondary participants, including validators and liquidity providers, engage with Exobots through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the stability and growth of the ecosystem. This collaborative environment fosters a robust community where users can share insights and improve their trading experiences collectively.
How is Exobots secured?
Exobots employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to create new blocks based on the amount of cryptocurrency they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This incentivizes participants to act honestly, as malicious behavior could result in the loss of their staked assets. The network utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards transactions against unauthorized access and tampering. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. Additionally, a slashing mechanism is in place to penalize validators who act maliciously or fail to fulfill their responsibilities, thereby discouraging dishonest behavior. Exobots also incorporates regular audits and governance processes to enhance security and resilience, ensuring that the network remains robust against potential vulnerabilities.
Has Exobots faced any controversy or risks?
Exobots has faced some controversy related to security risks and community governance issues. In early 2023, a vulnerability was identified in the smart contract code, which raised concerns about potential exploits. The team promptly addressed this by implementing a patch and conducting a thorough audit of the codebase to ensure the integrity of the platform. Additionally, they initiated a bug bounty program to encourage community involvement in identifying any further vulnerabilities. Moreover, there have been discussions within the community regarding governance decisions, particularly around the allocation of funds and project direction. The team has worked to enhance transparency by holding regular community meetings and publishing detailed reports on governance decisions. Ongoing risks for Exobots include market volatility and regulatory scrutiny, common to many blockchain projects. To mitigate these risks, the team emphasizes robust development practices, regular audits, and open communication with the community to foster trust and engagement.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
