It was created to facilitate seamless and secure transactions within the DeFi ecosystem, addressing issues related to liquidity and accessibility for users. The project operates on the Ethereum blockchain, utilizing a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism that enables efficient transaction processing and smart contract functionality. Its native token, CROAK, serves multiple purposes, including transaction fees, governance participation, and staking rewards, allowing users to earn passive income while contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. CROAK stands out for its innovative liquidity pooling features and user-friendly interface, positioning it as a significant player in the DeFi space. By focusing on enhancing user experience and providing robust financial tools, CROAK aims to empower individuals to take control of their financial assets in a decentralized manner.
When and how did CROAK start?
CROAK originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. Following successful testing, CROAK transitioned to its mainnet launch in November 2021, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform aimed at enhancing user engagement and community interaction within the crypto space. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in December 2021, which aimed to ensure equitable access for participants. These foundational steps established CROAK's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for its evolving ecosystem.

Overall, CROAK's design caters to a diverse range of users, from casual holders to active developers, fostering a vibrant community and ecosystem.
Is CROAK still active or relevant?
CROAK remains active through a recent governance proposal announced in September 2023, indicating ongoing community engagement and decision-making. Development currently focuses on enhancing its ecosystem features and user experience, with updates being regularly pushed to its GitHub repository. The project has also maintained its presence on several trading platforms, showcasing consistent market activity and liquidity. Additionally, CROAK has established partnerships with various decentralized applications, which further integrate its token into broader use cases within the blockchain ecosystem. These indicators support its continued relevance within the cryptocurrency sector, as it adapts to market demands and fosters community involvement. Overall, CROAK's active development, governance participation, and strategic partnerships highlight its sustained significance in the crypto landscape.
Who is CROAK designed for?
CROAK is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to engage with a decentralized platform that facilitates various applications and services. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to support development and enhance user experience. This allows developers to create innovative solutions and applications on the CROAK blockchain, while consumers can utilize these applications for various purposes, such as payments or governance participation. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and functionality. This collaborative ecosystem fosters a vibrant community where all participants can benefit from the growth and utility of CROAK, aligning with the project's mission to create a robust and user-friendly blockchain environment.
How is CROAK secured?
CROAK employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In this model, validators are selected to create new blocks based on the amount of CROAK tokens they hold and are willing to "stake" as collateral. This incentivizes participants to act honestly, as their staked tokens can be slashed or penalized for malicious behavior. The network utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable and tamper-proof. Incentive alignment is achieved through staking rewards, which are distributed to validators for their participation in the network. This reward system encourages active involvement and long-term commitment to the network's health. Additionally, CROAK implements governance processes that allow token holders to participate in decision-making, further enhancing security and resilience. Regular audits and a multi-client architecture contribute to the overall robustness of the network, ensuring it remains secure against potential vulnerabilities.
Has CROAK faced any controversy or risks?
CROAK has faced regulatory scrutiny related to its compliance with local laws in various jurisdictions, particularly concerning its token distribution and marketing practices. In mid-2023, the project encountered challenges when certain regulatory bodies raised concerns about its adherence to securities laws. The team responded by enhancing their compliance framework, engaging legal advisors, and adjusting their marketing strategies to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations. Additionally, CROAK experienced a minor security incident in early 2023, where a vulnerability in its smart contract was identified. The development team promptly addressed the issue through a patch, which was deployed within 48 hours. They also initiated a bug bounty program to incentivize community members to report potential vulnerabilities in the future. Ongoing risks for CROAK include market volatility and potential regulatory changes that could impact its operations. The team is actively mitigating these risks through regular audits, transparent communication with stakeholders, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with evolving regulations.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
