Azbit operates on a hybrid model that combines elements of a cryptocurrency exchange and a banking platform, enabling users to trade various digital assets while also accessing traditional financial services. The project utilizes a multi-chain architecture, allowing for interoperability across different blockchain networks. Its native token, AZ, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking, and governance, empowering users to participate in decision-making processes related to the platform's development and operations. Azbit stands out for its unique integration of exchange functionalities with banking services, positioning it as a versatile solution for both crypto enthusiasts and traditional investors seeking a seamless experience in managing their digital assets.
When and how did Azbit start?
Azbit originated in December 2017 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and objectives. The platform aimed to create a comprehensive ecosystem that integrates various financial services, including a cryptocurrency exchange and a banking platform. Azbit launched its mainnet in March 2019, marking its initial public availability and enabling users to engage with its services. Early development focused on establishing a secure and user-friendly trading environment, as well as integrating additional financial services to enhance user experience. The token's initial distribution occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) held in late 2017, which helped raise funds for the project's development and operational costs. These foundational steps set the stage for Azbit's growth and the expansion of its ecosystem in the competitive cryptocurrency landscape.
What’s coming up for Azbit?
According to official updates, Azbit is preparing for a significant platform upgrade planned for Q1 2024, which aims to enhance user experience and scalability. This upgrade will introduce new trading features and improved security measures to better serve its user base. Additionally, Azbit is working on integrating with several decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, with targeted partnerships expected to be announced in the coming months. These initiatives are designed to expand Azbit's ecosystem and improve overall functionality. Progress on these milestones will be tracked through their official channels, ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout the development process.

Who is Azbit designed for?
Azbit is designed for a diverse audience that includes retail investors, traders, and cryptocurrency enthusiasts, enabling them to access a comprehensive trading platform and financial services. It provides tools and resources such as a user-friendly exchange interface, wallets for secure asset storage, and various trading options to support users in managing their digital assets effectively. Secondary participants, such as liquidity providers and institutional investors, engage through features like staking and governance mechanisms, which allow them to contribute to the platform's liquidity and decision-making processes. By catering to both individual users and institutional players, Azbit aims to create a robust ecosystem that facilitates trading, investment, and participation in the growing cryptocurrency market.
How is Azbit secured?
Azbit employs a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, where a network of validators is responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the blockchain. In this model, stakeholders can delegate their voting power to trusted validators, who are then tasked with producing new blocks and validating transactions. This approach enhances transaction speed and scalability while ensuring a decentralized governance structure. For cryptographic security, Azbit utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography protects user transactions and maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information. Incentives for validators are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed based on their performance and the amount of cryptocurrency they stake. To discourage malicious behavior, the protocol incorporates slashing mechanisms that penalize validators for dishonest actions or failure to fulfill their responsibilities. Additional security measures include regular audits and a robust governance framework, which collectively enhance the resilience and reliability of the Azbit network.
Has Azbit faced any controversy or risks?
Azbit has faced several controversies and risks, primarily related to regulatory challenges and security incidents. In 2020, the platform encountered scrutiny from regulatory bodies, which raised concerns about compliance with local laws regarding cryptocurrency trading and operations. The team responded by enhancing their compliance measures and engaging with legal advisors to ensure adherence to regulations. Additionally, Azbit experienced a security incident in early 2021, where a vulnerability in their system was exploited, leading to unauthorized access to user funds. The team promptly addressed this issue by implementing a patch to secure the platform and conducted a thorough audit to identify and rectify any further vulnerabilities. They also initiated a reimbursement program for affected users to restore trust within the community. Ongoing risks for Azbit include market volatility and potential regulatory changes that could impact operations. To mitigate these risks, the team focuses on maintaining transparency, conducting regular audits, and improving security protocols to safeguard user assets and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).
