When and how did Axia start?
Axia originated in October 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in December 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with the platform's features and functionalities. Following this, Axia transitioned to its mainnet launch in March 2022, marking its official entry into the blockchain ecosystem. Early development focused on creating a decentralized financial platform that aimed to enhance user engagement and accessibility. The initial distribution of Axia tokens occurred through a fair launch model in April 2022, which aimed to ensure equitable access for participants. These foundational steps established Axia's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for its ecosystem development, positioning it as a notable player in the blockchain space.
What’s coming up for Axia?
According to official updates, Axia is preparing for a significant protocol upgrade aimed at enhancing scalability and performance, scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. This upgrade is expected to introduce new features that will improve user experience and transaction efficiency. Additionally, Axia is working on integrating with several strategic partners, with these collaborations targeted for completion in the second quarter of 2024. These initiatives are designed to bolster the ecosystem and expand Axia's usability across various applications. Progress on these milestones will be monitored through official communications and updates from the Axia team.

What can you do with Axia?
The AXIA token serves multiple practical utilities within the Axia ecosystem. It is primarily used for transaction fees, enabling users to send value and interact with decentralized applications (dApps). Holders of AXIA can participate in staking, which helps secure the network and allows them to potentially earn rewards. Additionally, AXIA holders may have the opportunity to engage in governance voting, influencing decisions regarding the future development and direction of the platform. For developers, AXIA provides tools for building and integrating dApps, enhancing the overall functionality of the ecosystem. The platform supports various applications, including wallets that facilitate AXIA transactions and other integrations that enhance user experience. Furthermore, users can benefit from off-chain utilities, such as discounts and rewards within the Axia ecosystem, making the token versatile for both everyday transactions and broader participation in the network's governance and development.
Is Axia still active or relevant?
Axia remains active through a series of recent updates and community engagements. In September 2023, the project announced a significant upgrade to its platform, enhancing transaction speeds and security features. Development is currently focused on expanding its ecosystem, particularly in decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The Axia community has been actively participating in governance proposals, with several votes taking place in the last few months, indicating a vibrant and engaged user base. Additionally, Axia has secured partnerships with various blockchain projects, further integrating its technology into broader ecosystems. These indicators support its continued relevance within the cryptocurrency sector, showcasing its commitment to innovation and community involvement. The ongoing development and active governance suggest that Axia is not only operational but also striving to maintain its position in the evolving crypto landscape.
Who is Axia designed for?
Axia is designed for a diverse range of users, primarily targeting developers and consumers. It enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications (dApps) on its platform, facilitating innovation and enhancing user experiences. For consumers, Axia provides a user-friendly interface for engaging with blockchain technology, allowing them to participate in transactions and access various services seamlessly. To support these primary users, Axia offers a suite of tools and resources, including software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs), which streamline the development process and enhance accessibility. Additionally, Axia caters to secondary participants such as validators and liquidity providers, who engage in the ecosystem through staking and governance mechanisms. This involvement not only strengthens the network but also allows these participants to contribute to the platform's overall growth and sustainability.
How is Axia secured?
Axia employs a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Authority (PoA), where a select group of trusted validators confirm transactions and maintain the integrity of the network. This model enhances transaction speed and efficiency while ensuring a high level of security. The protocol utilizes advanced cryptographic techniques, including Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. To align incentives, Axia incorporates a reward system for validators, providing them with staking rewards for their participation in the network. This encourages honest behavior and active engagement in maintaining network security. Additionally, Axia implements slashing penalties for validators who act maliciously or fail to meet performance standards, thereby discouraging any attempts at fraud or negligence. The network's resilience is further bolstered by regular audits and a robust governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes. This multi-faceted approach to security, combining consensus, cryptography, and incentive mechanisms, ensures that Axia remains a secure and reliable platform for its users.
Has Axia faced any controversy or risks?
Axia has faced some risks related to its technical infrastructure and community governance. In early 2023, the project encountered a security incident involving a vulnerability in its smart contract code, which raised concerns about potential exploits. The Axia team promptly addressed this issue by implementing a patch to secure the affected contracts and conducted a comprehensive audit to ensure the integrity of the platform moving forward. Additionally, there have been discussions within the community regarding governance decisions, particularly around the allocation of resources and project direction. The team has actively engaged with the community to address these concerns, facilitating open forums and feedback sessions to enhance transparency and collaboration. Ongoing risks for Axia include market volatility, regulatory scrutiny, and the inherent technical challenges associated with blockchain technology. To mitigate these risks, Axia emphasizes robust development practices, regular security audits, and a commitment to transparent communication with its user base.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
