What is Fusionist?
Fusionist (FUS) is a blockchain project launched in 2021, designed to facilitate seamless integration between various blockchain networks and enhance interoperability. The project aims to address the challenges of fragmented blockchain ecosystems by enabling different chains to communicate and transact with one another efficiently. Operating on a unique consensus mechanism, Fusionist employs a hybrid model that combines elements of proof-of-stake and delegated proof-of-stake, allowing for both security and scalability. Its native token, FUS, serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, including transaction fees, staking rewards, and governance, empowering holders to participate in decision-making processes related to the platform's development. Fusionist stands out for its focus on cross-chain functionality and user-friendly interfaces, positioning it as a significant player in the growing landscape of decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain interoperability solutions. By bridging the gap between disparate blockchain networks, Fusionist aims to foster a more connected and efficient decentralized ecosystem.
When and how did Fusionist start?
Fusionist originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision and technical framework. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to experiment with its features and functionalities. Following successful testing and feedback, the mainnet was officially launched in September 2021, marking its initial public availability for users. Early development focused on creating a robust ecosystem that integrates various blockchain technologies, aiming to enhance interoperability and user experience. The token's initial distribution occurred through a fair launch model in October 2021, which allowed participants to acquire tokens without the constraints of traditional fundraising methods. These foundational steps established the groundwork for Fusionist's growth and its subsequent integration into the broader blockchain landscape.

Who is Fusionist designed for?
Fusionist is designed for developers and consumers, enabling them to create and utilize decentralized applications effectively. It provides essential tools and resources, including SDKs and APIs, to facilitate development and integration with the platform. This support helps developers build innovative solutions while allowing consumers to access and engage with these applications seamlessly. Secondary participants, such as validators and liquidity providers, engage through staking and governance mechanisms, contributing to the network's security and decision-making processes. By fostering a collaborative environment, Fusionist aims to empower its primary users to achieve their goals while ensuring a robust ecosystem that benefits all participants.
How is Fusionist secured?
Fusionist employs a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators are responsible for confirming transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. This model requires validators to lock up a certain amount of Fusionist tokens as collateral, which aligns their incentives with the network's security and performance. For cryptographic security, Fusionist utilizes advanced techniques such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) to ensure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards the network against unauthorized access and ensures that transactions are verifiable. Incentives for validators include staking rewards, which are distributed for their participation in the validation process. To deter malicious behavior, the protocol implements slashing penalties, where a portion of a validator's staked tokens can be forfeited if they act dishonestly or fail to fulfill their responsibilities. Additional security measures include regular audits and a governance framework that allows stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes, enhancing the overall resilience of the network.
Has Fusionist faced any controversy or risks?
Fusionist has faced some controversy related to security vulnerabilities and regulatory scrutiny. In early 2023, the project experienced a significant incident involving a smart contract exploit that led to the loss of user funds. The team responded promptly by pausing the affected contracts and initiating a thorough audit to identify and rectify the vulnerabilities. They also communicated transparently with the community, outlining steps for reimbursement to affected users and implementing additional security measures. Furthermore, Fusionist has encountered regulatory challenges, particularly concerning compliance with local laws in various jurisdictions. The team has been proactive in engaging with legal advisors to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and has made adjustments to their operational practices accordingly. Ongoing risks for Fusionist include market volatility and potential future exploits, which are common in the blockchain space. To mitigate these risks, the project emphasizes regular security audits, community engagement, and a robust governance framework to adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
