Ex-Celsius Boss, Alex Mashinsky, to Face Trial in 2024 Over Money Troubles; Other Big Names Also Head to Court

The trial for Alex Mashinsky, once the boss of Celsius Network, is set to start on Sept. 17, 2024. He used to be a CEO in a company that worked with Cryptocurrency.

In a meeting at a New York court on Oct. 3, Judge John Koeltl picked the date for the trial. There will also be three smaller meetings before the big trial in March, July, and September. Mashinsky is accused of tricking investors and taking a lot of money from users. He is allowed to be free until the trial if he pays a $40 million bail and follows some rules.

Roni Cohen-Pavon, who worked under Mashinsky, already admitted that he was guilty of four crimes in September. He will also be free until his punishment meeting in December and might speak at Mashinsky’s trial.

Celsius Network, the company, went bankrupt in July 2022, and Mashinsky left his CEO position in September 2022. Now, the U.S. government is still looking into his actions and has frozen a lot of his money and things.

In unrelated news, other important court cases are also starting soon, including one against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and one against ex-President Donald Trump. These cases are getting a lot of attention because of the people involved.
