Coinbase stops trading certain coins in Canada after new rules. Changes start on Aug. 31; some other companies are also affected.

Coinbase, a big crypto company, will stop trading with USDT, DAI, and RAI coins for people in Canada from the end of this month. They made this decision after checking if these coins still meet their rules.

The company said in an email that the change will happen on Aug. 31 at 12 pm ET. However, users in Canada can still put in and take out these coins, even if they can't trade them.

This decision comes after Coinbase started its services in Canada and worked with local banks and government rules. Before, The exchange earlier praised Canadian authorities’ approach to regulate crypto with clear rules and engaging with digital asset firms.

Canada made stricter rules for crypto companies this year. This made some companies leave Canada or stop offering certain coins. For example, Binance left in May, and Crypto.com removed USDT in January because of these new rules.
