Uber's CEO announces plans to accept Bitcoin, signaling a growing trend towards cryptocurrency use.

Uber's CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, said in a Bloomberg Interview that they'll start taking Bitcoin for payments soon. This shows the growing use of this digital money in everyday business.

"We are having conversations all the time [about cryptocurrency],” he said. "I think right now what we see with Bitcoin and some of the other cryptos is that they are quite valuable as a store of value."

He added: "The exchange mechanism is expensive, it's not great for the environment. As the exchange mechanism becomes less expensive, becomes more environmentally friendly, I think you will see us lean into crypto a little bit more."

Khosrowshahi's announcement indicates more businesses are accepting cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. This boosts their reputation and encourages people to use them more often.

As big companies like Uber start using cryptocurrencies, more people will trust them. This could speed up their use across the world. Uber's move might inspire other businesses to accept cryptocurrencies, showing their growing role in daily transactions.
