Atomic Wallet is investigating numerous user reports of sudden crypto theft, with an estimated total loss of at least $20 million across several cryptocurrencies, according to on-chain analyst ZachXBT.
Atomic Wallet's team is probing user complaints about sudden theft of their crypto assets. The company, which supports over 1,000 crypto assets through a decentralized, non-custodial app, has released an official statement acknowledging the reports of wallet compromise and has encouraged users to reach out via email.
As a non-custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet doesn't hold access to users' private keys, emphasizing that all key information is securely stored on user devices. According to on-chain analyst ZachXBT, various cryptocurrencies are being siphoned off from wallets, with the most substantial single loss standing at $3.5 million in Ethereum (ETH).
He estimated the total stolen assets to be worth at least $20 million across several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, XRP, and Dogecoin.
