Vitalik Buterin highlights challenges with Ethereum's nodes and shares ideas to improve it for the future.

Vitalik Buterin, the person who helped start Ethereum, says that many of its nodes use big companies like Amazon. This is a problem because if these companies have issues, Ethereum could too.

Buterin talked at Korea Blockchain Week and said there are six main problems with Ethereum, but the biggest one is that too many nodes use centralized services. He believes the answer is to make nodes simpler and cheaper.

He explained a new idea called "statelessness". This means Ethereum would not need big companies to check its activities. With this change, anyone could run an Ethereum node without using a lot of computer data. Buterin hopes that one day, people could even use their phones for it.

But, this big change might take a lot of time. Buterin thinks it could be 10 or 20 years before it happens.

There are other ideas to make Ethereum better. Some of these include simpler instructions, making it easier and safer for people to hold and use Ether (ETH), Ethereum's cryptocurrency. But the most important thing, Buterin said, is to make Ethereum faster and handle more activities at once.

Right now, Ethereum uses something called ZK-rollups to be faster. Many people who like Ethereum think this is a good way to make it better.
