Ex FTX CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, to Face Trial From Oct. 4
Former FTX CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, faces trial from Oct. 4 for seven fraud charges. If guilty, he could get 110 years in prison. Trial might last 4-5 weeks.
Former FTX CEO Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried will face a court trial from Oct. 4 to Nov. 9. The schedule was shared on Sept. 28, starting with choosing the jury on Oct. 3.
He is accused of seven fraud charges. Two of them are major, and five are about planning to do the crime.
The trial has 21 total days: 15 in October and 6 in November. No court sessions on weekends, Oct. 9, Oct. 20-25, Nov. 3, and Nov. 10.
Bankman-Fried has been in jail since Aug. 11. He tried many times to be released before the trial but was denied. The judge thinks he might run away because of his young age and possible long prison time.
But the judge allowed him to come early to court to talk to his lawyers. On Sept. 28, officials said the case might take 4 to 5 weeks.
SBF says he didn't do the seven crimes. If found guilty, he could face up to 110 years in prison.
