Friends Turn Enemies as SBF Old Teammates Prepare To Testify Against Him
FTX's ex-CEO, SBF, faces court, and old colleagues may testify against him in a major US trial.
People who used to work with Sam "SBF" Bankman-Fried at FTX, a digital money company, may speak against him in a big legal case in the United States. On Oct. 3, the court started choosing people to help decide if SBF is guilty.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Danielle Sassoon mentioned names like Caroline Ellison,Gary Wang, and others from FTX who might speak against SBF in court. Some of them have admitted to doing wrong things in the past related to FTX. Also, Anthony Scaramucci, a critic of SBF, might talk in court.
When the process started, SBF came to court with tidy hair, different from his usual messy look. The judge, Lewis Kaplan, asked people who might be in the deciding group (jurors) many questions and told them not to listen to any news or talks about the case.
The selection of jurors will keep going on Oct. 4 and the real trial is expected to last until November. Both sides, who are against and in support of SBF, will start giving their main points in the trial on Oct. 4. SBF is in trouble for seven criminal charges now and will face more in another trial in March 2024.
