Crypto Payments To Honda Requires a Third-party Platform
Honda doesn't take crypto for cars, but FCF Pay offers a way. Meanwhile, FCF Pay faces challenges on the X platform.
Honda does not accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin directly for their cars. Recently, it was reported that Honda started taking crypto, but Honda made it clear they don't. They said:
“American Honda does not accept cryptocurrency as payment. The recent reports regarding a change to this policy are incorrect.”
However, people who want to buy a Honda using crypto have another way. FCF Pay lets people buy Honda cars using cryptocurrencies. Joseph Parkin from FCF Pay said, “There are more car brands available like Mercedes, BMW, and Ford.” Payments on FCF Pay turn crypto into regular money. The service is for people in the U.S., but FCF Pay plans to offer it in other countries soon.
This system started in September 2023, and lets people buy things using coins like Bitcoin and Ether. They charge a small fee. Parkin said they want more companies to join and hope governments see the benefits of crypto.
However, FCF Pay isn’t partnered with companies like Honda but when people pay in crypto to Honda or other companies listed previously, the companies get regular money.
Recently, FCF Pay had problems with their page on X (like Twitter). It was suspended, and Parkin thinks it's because of wrong news and fake accounts trying to hurt them. Parkin said, “We might change our name faster if our X account doesn’t come back.” They are planning a new app soon too.
