Coinbase's legal battle with The SEC heats up, with lawyer John Deaton set to represent 4,200 customers.

The legal battle between Coinbase Global Inc, America's largest crypto trading platform, and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is gathering momentum. John Deaton, a lawyer who supports XRP, is preparing to represent over 4,200 Coinbase customers in this case.

Deaton compared this Coinbase issue with the earlier lawsuit between XRP, Ripple Labs, and the SEC. He pointed out that in the XRP case, it was important for XRP holders to express their unique point of view. However, such a need does not exist for Coinbase users. Deaton said that he would apply the law fairly, regardless of who it benefits. He added that presenting any legal argument now may seem like an attempt to draw attention.
