Boxer Logan Paul faces criticism From Crypto Community
Logan Paul faces criticism for failing to refund victims of his CryptoZoo NFT project.
YouTuber Logan Paul is under fire again for not refunding CryptoZoo NFT buyers, six months after promising to do so.
Crypto journalist Stephen Findeisen, aka Coffeezilla, reported on YouTube that Paul has not repaid his CryptoZoo victims or updated them on the situation.
Coffeezilla has been asking Paul for an update on refunds but received no reply. Finally, Paul's lawyer responded, saying they are still figuring out how to refund.
The response from Paul's lawyer disappointed Coffeezilla, who said it lacked both a refund timeline and a plan. He urged Paul to repay the people and provide a clear timeline and plan.
CryptoZoo, co-founded by Paul, launched in September 2021. The game used its cryptocurrency, ZooCoin, to buy "eggs" hatching into random rarity animals. These animals could be bred to create NFTs, which could be held or burned for more ZooCoin.
However, Coffeezilla's investigation found that CryptoZoo was largely abandoned after its launch, and Paul had distanced himself from the project. CryptoZoo's main features were not available to some consumers, causing big losses.
Coffeezilla revealed that some high-ranking individuals behind CryptoZoo made millions from ZooCoin, devaluing the coin.
Paul initially blamed CryptoZoo's co-founders and advisors and threatened to sue Coffeezilla. Later, he apologized and promised to refund the victims, but he has yet to fulfill this promise.
