Poloniex Identfies $110 Million Hacker: Makes Major Move

Poloniex identifies the hacker who stole $110 million, offers $10 million reward for return; China, US, Russia to track funds, hacker could face legal action.

Cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex has identified the hacker who stole over $110 million. Justin Sun, informed the hacker that authorities from China, the United States, and Russia are involved and that the stolen assets will be tracked and frozen. Sun offered a $10 million incentive if the cash were returned by November 25, 2023.

Initially, it was suspected that North Korean hackers were involved in the attack, complicating the recovery procedure. Poloniex has informed users that deposit and withdrawal services will be resumed as soon as possible.

Sun has now raised the prize to 11.4 million dollars after initially offering 5% of the stolen cash to convince the hacker to return the assets. Regardless of the incentive, the hacker could face legal consequences.
