Polygon Labs teams up with Google Cloud Google joins as a key player to boost Polygon's security, making the future of crypto brighter and safer.

Polygon Labs welcomes Google Cloud! On Sept. 29, Polygon announced that Google Cloud joined its team of validators for its proof-of-stake Network.

Polygon shared that Google Cloud is now part of over 100 validators securing the Polygon PoS Network. This network, once known as Matic Network, works alongside the Ethereum blockchain.

Excitingly, the same infrastructure behind YouTube and Gmail now also supports parts of Polygon PoS. By adding Google Cloud, a “trusted and secure” partner, Polygon’s security gets even better.

A dashboard reveals Google Cloud placed 10,451 MATIC (worth $5,484) in the network and gained 29.42 MATIC ($15). Even though Google Cloud is a big name, they’ve staked less MATIC than many others.

Interestingly, this news didn’t majorly affect the value of MATIC token. MATIC’s price rose 1.2% in 24 hours, while the whole crypto market increased by 0.6%.

Back in April, Polygon and Google Cloud began their partnership. They planned many joint efforts. Google Cloud promised to offer cloud help, manage hosting services for Polygon, and support for a special Polygon app-chain. Polygon also got $200,000 in Google Cloud credits for startups they support.

Beyond that partnership, Google Cloud has also added support for Polygon network data to its BigQuery datasets. The platform made that addition on Sept. 21 and introduced support for a total of eleven different sets of blockchain data at that time.

Lastly, Google Cloud’s partnership with Polygon is broad, but they’ve also teamed up with other blockchain networks like Solana and Tezos.
