Binance Prepares for Two Major Upgrades to its BNB Chain
Binance's BNB Smart Chain is making two big updates in August 2023 for a safer, faster system that works well with others like Ethereum.
Binance's own BNB Smart Chain (BSC) is planningtwo big changes in August 2023. These changes will make the system safer and work better with other similar systems.
There will be two upgrades named Plato and Hertz on Aug. 10 and Aug. 30. Plato, which already happened, added something called BEP-126. This new feature stops any changes to the blocks of data once they are made.
Arno Bauer, an expert at BNB Chain, talked about these changes. He said that BEP-126 will make the BSC more secure and efficient. Bauer explained that once a transaction is added to the blockchain, it should not be changed. This is important for trust and to stop people from spending the same money twice.
In simple terms, BEP-126 lets validators (people who check and approve transactions) agree on a block. They vote for a block, and if enough validators agree, it's accepted. This system ensures that all validators agree on the same version of the blockchain. Validators are rewarded for their work. If they break the rules, they are punished.
The Hertz change on Aug. 30 is to help BNB Chain work well with other systems like Ethereum. Bauer mentioned this update will help developers and grow the community. He believes these changes will make apps on BSC safer and faster.
