Wirex launches Wirex Travel, offering up to 65% off hotels and 8% cashback, directly challenging Binance-backed Travala in the crypto travel market.

Wirex has launched its new hotel booking service, Wirex Travel, offering up to 65% discounts on hotels and 8% cashback for users paying with a Wirex card. This move puts Wirex in direct competition with Travala, a platform backed by Binance that has led the crypto travel booking space since 2020.

Wirex, known as a popular Web3 money app, is expanding its services into the travel market. With Wirex Travel, users can now book hotel stays using both fiat money and cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT). The platform features thousands of global hotel options and promotes itself as a simple and user-friendly marketplace.

In addition to hotel deals, Wirex Travel gives special offers to Wirex cardholders, who receive up to 8% cashback when paying with their cards. Wirex also highlights significant price reductions, including up to 65% off luxury hotels in top destinations like the Maldives. These offers could help attract travelers looking for better value.

Wirex is entering a space long dominated by Travala, which allows users to book hotels, flights, and holiday packages with more than 100 cryptocurrencies. Travala gained early success and funding from major backers, including Binance, giving it a strong presence in the market.

Although Wirex Travel doesn’t currently offer flights or packages like Travala does, the launch could increase competition in the crypto travel industry. Wirex already has a large global customer base and years of experience offering features like zero foreign exchange fees, interbank rates, and crypto rewards. The new platform builds on that foundation, aiming to provide a fresh alternative for travelers using digital currencies.

Pavel Matveev, Co-Founder of Wirex, said, “Travel should be simple, seamless, and rewarding. With Wirex Travel, we’re helping users unlock incredible hotel deals while earning generous rewards when they pay with their Wirex card.”

The company’s launch campaign is strong, using deep discounts and cashback to grab attention. This strategy may help Wirex attract users who are already comfortable with crypto or are looking for ways to save money when traveling.

While Travala still leads in terms of features and coverage, Wirex is positioning itself as a serious new player. Its focus on crypto payments and incentives may help it carve out a growing share of the travel booking market, especially among tech-savvy and budget-conscious users.
