Ledger Updates its Software as Tether Freezes Hacker’s Wallet

Ledger, a crypto wallet provider, has updated its software after a serious hack. They urge users to switch to the new version 1.1.8 and wait a day before using it again. Ledger is investigating how much the hack affected their system.
The hack happened when a former employee was tricked into giving access to their account. About $150,000 was stolen initially, although it has recently been reported by Bitcoin(dot)com to have reached about $484,000. Ledger quickly responded and fixed the problem within 40 minutes with the help of WalletConnect and Tether, who also froze the hacker's wallet.
Other DeFi protocols like SushiSwap, Kyber, RevokeCash, and Zapper were also hit by this "supply chain attack". It involved harmful code that impacted various apps. Kyber and RevokeCash quickly turned off their services to prevent more harm.
The problem was with LedgerHQ’s ConnectKit versions after 1.1.4. While some crypto projects said they weren't affected, this kind of attack shows big risks in the crypto world.
