Hamster Kombat Unveils Web3 Plans, HMSTR Airdrop Set for Sept 26
Hamster Kombat reveals its 2024-2025 roadmap, expanding to Web3 gaming with NFTs, as the HMSTR token airdrop launches on September 26 amid TON blockchain concerns.
Hamster Kombat, the viral Telegram tap-to-earn game, has revealed its 2024-2025 roadmap, outlining plans to evolve into a Web3 gaming platform with NFT integration. The announcement came ahead of its HMSTR token airdrop set for September 26. This new phase will allow the game to expand beyond its current offering and integrate more advanced features for its growing user base.
As part of the roadmap, Hamster Kombat plans to add external payment systems and introduce new games by the end of 2024. The games will feature NFTs as in-game assets, adding another layer of value to the platform. Additionally, a dedicated advertising network will be launched in December, with its revenue being used to buy back tokens and distribute them as rewards. These initiatives are designed to enhance the game's appeal while adding value to the HMSTR token.
The HMSTR token airdrop will reward 43% of users (131 million out of 300 million), while a portion of the tokens (11.25%) will be locked for 10 months to create scarcity and potentially drive up the HMSTR token price. This selective distribution has sparked excitement among some users, as well as frustration among those who will not receive the tokens. Despite the division, Hamster Kombat is committed to ensuring value beyond the airdrop, focusing on player retention and expanding its player base.
Meanwhile, The Open Network (TON) has issued a warning about potential network overload during the token minting process on September 26. The TON blockchain anticipates a high load due to the 100 million monthly active users of Hamster Kombat, which may cause network disruptions. TON called it a "unique" event for the blockchain industry, given the scale of the project.
In the midst of anticipation for the airdrop, some players have expressed frustration after being labeled as cheaters for collecting keys in the first season of in-game rewards, which ended on September 20. These players invested significant time and effort in the game, only to have their keys deemed irrelevant, adding to the tension ahead of the airdrop.
Despite the challenges, Hamster Kombat is set to make a significant leap into the Web3 gaming space, with the roadmap laying the foundation for future growth and innovation. As the HMSTR airdrop and platform expansion unfold, it remains to be seen how these developments will affect the game's long-term success.
