Major Swiss Bank To Offer Crypto Custody Services
Swiss bank SGKB teams up with SEBA Bank to introduce crypto trading, highlighting a rising trend in Switzerland's banking sector.
St.Galler Kantonalbank (SGKB), a big Swiss bank, is now offering cryptocurrency services. They're partnering with SEBA Bank to allow customers to trade and safely store digital money.
Starting with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), this SGKB-SEBA partnership shows the growing interest in crypto within Swiss banks. Initially, these services are for wealthy clients, but they might expand to regular customers if there's demand.
They also plan to add more cryptocurrencies and staking services. Christian Bieri from SEBA Bank said this partnership is a big step for Swiss retail banks and reflects a growing interest in crypto.
SEBA Bank recently got permission to offer virtual money services. Other banks, like Sygnum, are also starting to provide crypto services to customers in Switzerland.
