Donald Trump has up to $500,000 in Ethereum
Donald Trump has up to $500,000 in Ethereum, a digital currency, from selling digital art in 2022, despite past doubts about crypto.
Donald Trump owns between $250,000 and $500,000 in Ethereum (ETH), a type of cryptocurrency, according to his recent financial report.
This report mentioned a "Cryptocurrency Wallet (Ethereum)" with that value. This might be connected to digital art items called non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that Trump sold in 2022.
He sold 44,000 special digital cards with his pictures on them. These sold quickly, and he made around $8.9 million. From this, he got about $298,000 as fees. He used a digital wallet with a company called CIC Digital to collect this money.
Melania Trump, his wife, also sold some NFTs with pictures from NASA's moon trips. Each was sold for $75. But NASA wasn't happy because they said she broke their rules.
What's surprising is that Trump has this digital money. In the past, he didn't like crypto. In 2019, he said Bitcoin was not real money and had no real value. In 2021, during his campaign, he again said crypto was "fake."
