CZ Request to Return to The UAE Gets Denied Again
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao's request to travel was denied again by a U.S. judge, following his guilty plea and $175M bond release.
A U.S. federal judge has again denied Binance founder Changpeng Zhao's request to travel abroad, citing him as a flight risk. This decision by Judge Richard Jones marks the second time Zhao's travel plans have been blocked following his guilty plea to a charge of violating the Bank Secrecy Act.
The court's sealed ruling provided no details on Zhao's reasons for wanting to return to the UAE, Zhao, who pleaded guilty last month, was released on a $175 million personal recognizance bond. The ruling highlights ongoing legal challenges for the former Binance CEO even after stepping down and remitting a large asset as bail.
