CZ Makes Surprising Bitcoin Prediction
Binance CEO talks Bitcoin halving: Past events hint it might boost prices, but nothing is sure.
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance exchange, wrote a post about the upcoming Bitcoin halving, sharing it on the Binance Feed and X app. Halving is when Bitcoin miners get half the reward they used to, making Bitcoin rarer and often more valuable. CZ, as he is known, talked about what has happened in the past during these halving events, sharing that Bitcoin doesn't usually jump in price immediately after halving.
CZ reflects on Bitcoin halving and notes that the real price increases might happen a year after the event. He also humorously noted that people forget quickly and will ask why the price goes up. However, he stresses that past Bitcoin behaviors do not guarantee future results, and he cannot predict the future of Bitcoin prices.
Bitcoin halving is planned and happens every four years. The next one is in April-May 2024. Previous halvings have often led to price increases. For example, after the 2020 halving, Bitcoin hit new high prices in 2021, but some people think this was more because the U.S. government printed lots of money, not because of the halving. Other digital currencies like Litecoin (LTC) and Dash (DASH) have also gone through their own halvings recently.
