This integration not only streamlines the travel process for users but also enhances security and trust through blockchain technology, positioning TravelCare as a significant player in the evolving travel and blockchain landscape.
When and how did TravelCare start?
TravelCare originated in March 2021 when the founding team released its whitepaper, outlining the project's vision to enhance travel experiences through blockchain technology. The project launched its testnet in June 2021, allowing developers and early adopters to engage with the platform and provide feedback. Following the testnet phase, TravelCare transitioned to its mainnet launch in December 2021, marking its official entry into the market. Early development focused on creating a decentralized platform that integrates travel services with cryptocurrency, aiming to streamline transactions and improve user experiences. The initial distribution of TravelCare tokens occurred through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in January 2022, which raised funds to support further development and marketing efforts. These foundational steps established the groundwork for TravelCare's growth and the expansion of its ecosystem within the travel industry.

These indicators support its continued relevance within the travel and blockchain sectors, demonstrating that TravelCare is not only operational but also evolving to meet the needs of its users in a competitive landscape.
Who is TravelCare designed for?
TravelCare is designed for consumers seeking reliable travel solutions and services, enabling them to manage their travel experiences more effectively. It provides essential tools and resources, including a user-friendly platform for booking and managing travel arrangements, as well as access to travel-related information and support. Secondary participants, such as travel agencies and service providers, can engage with TravelCare through partnerships and integrations, contributing to a comprehensive ecosystem that enhances the overall travel experience. This collaborative approach allows for the sharing of resources and information, ultimately benefiting all users involved in the travel process. By focusing on both individual travelers and industry stakeholders, TravelCare aims to streamline travel management and improve accessibility to travel services.
How is TravelCare secured?
TravelCare uses a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, where validators confirm transactions and maintain the integrity of the network. This model requires participants to hold and stake a certain amount of TravelCare tokens to become validators, ensuring they have a vested interest in the network's security and performance. The protocol employs advanced cryptographic techniques, such as Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA), to ensure secure authentication and data integrity. This cryptography safeguards transactions against unauthorized access and tampering. Incentives for validators are aligned through staking rewards, which are distributed for successfully validating transactions. Additionally, the network incorporates slashing mechanisms, where validators can lose a portion of their staked tokens if they act maliciously or fail to validate transactions correctly. To further enhance security, TravelCare undergoes regular audits and has established governance processes that allow stakeholders to participate in decision-making. The use of multiple client implementations also contributes to the network's resilience, reducing the risk of single points of failure.
Has TravelCare faced any controversy or risks?
TravelCare has faced some controversy related to regulatory compliance and community governance issues. In early 2023, the project encountered scrutiny from regulatory bodies concerning its adherence to travel-related financial regulations. This led to a temporary suspension of certain services while the team worked to ensure compliance with local laws. The TravelCare team responded by implementing a comprehensive review of their operational practices and engaging with legal experts to align their offerings with regulatory standards. Additionally, there have been community disputes regarding governance decisions, particularly around the allocation of funds for development and marketing initiatives. The team addressed these concerns by enhancing transparency in their decision-making processes and introducing a community voting mechanism to involve stakeholders in future governance decisions. Ongoing risks for TravelCare include market volatility and potential regulatory changes that could impact its operations. To mitigate these risks, the project has committed to regular audits, maintaining open lines of communication with its community, and adapting its strategies in response to evolving regulatory landscapes.

What is Market depth?
Market depth is a metric, which is showing the real liquidity of the markets. Due to rampant wash-trading and fake activity - volume currently isn't the most reliable indicator in the crypto space.
What is it measuring?
It's measuring 1% or 10% section of the order book from the midpoint price (1%/10% of the buy orders, and 1%/10% of the sell orders).

Why it is important to use only 1% or 10%?
It's important, because measurement of the whole order book is going to give false results due to extreme values, which can make false illusion of liquidity for a given market.
How to use it?
By default Market depth is showing the most liquid markets sorted by Combined Orders (which is a sum of buy and sell orders). This way it provides the most interesting information already. Left (green) side of the market depth bar is showing how many buy orders are open, and right (red) side of the bar is showing how many sell orders are open (both can be recalculated to BTC, ETH or any fiat we have available on the site).

Confidence
Due to rampant malicious practices in the crypto exchanges environment, we have introduced in 2019 and 2020 new ways of evaluating exchanges and one of them is - Confidence. Because it's a new metric - it's essential to know how it works.
Confidence is weighted based on 3 principles:
Based on the liquidity from order books (75%) - including overall liquidity and market depth/volume ratio, volumes included, if exchange is low volume (below 2M USD volume 24h)
Based on web traffic (20%) - using Alexa rank as a main indicator of site popularity
Based on regulation (5%) - researching and evaluating licensing for exchange - by respective institutions
Adding all of these subscores give overall main result - Confidence
Confidence is mainly based on liquidity, because it's the most important aspect of cryptocurrency exchanges. Without liquidity there is no trading, illiquid markets tend to collapse in the long term. Besides liquidity - there is also an additional factor in calculation of score - market depth/volume ratio. If volume is huge (especially when it’s growing much faster than liquidity), and market depth seems to not keep pace with - it's reducing overall score. Exchanges that keep market makers liquidity with expanding volume are those that keep all ratios in-tact and have overall score above 75-80% (it means that they have all liquidity ratios above minimum requirements, high web traffic participation, and are often regulated).

Historical Market Depth is showing the history of liquidity from the markets for a given asset. It’s a measure of combined liquidity from all integrated markets on the coinpaprika’s market depth module.
